Has anyone tried this yet? Adds one round. I picked one up today. Hopefully I can test it within the next couple of days.

NEWEST AND LATEST MODIFICATION

Pearce +1 grip extension and "original glock 42 follower modification" for an 8 round mag.

Ok, I have a pearce +1 and a magguts mod for an 8+1 set up so in doing a little thinking, the Pearce extension works perfect with the original glock spring and follower. The Magguts supplies it's own spring and follower but if you look at the follower on the Magguts you find that because it's metal and how it accepts the spring you realize why the Magguts supplies it's own spring (both the stock and Magguts spring are very similar in length). I believe Magguts had to do this in order to match the shape of the bottom of it's follower. When you lie the stock Glock 42 follower next to the Magguts metal follower you see that the difference aside from the two being made of different material is "lower height at the front of the follower which got me to thinking??????

I took a stock Glock 42 follower and ground down the base of the follower to match the height and tilt of the Magguts follower, used the stock spring and a Pearce +1. So far everything cycles well and no function problems on the bench. I do need to field test this mag and intend on doing so this coming Thursday but if this is a reliable option I will convert a few more mags without having to spend money of Magguts kits. Very easy mod if you own a bench grinder and some fine work files.

HAS ANYONE ELSE TRIED THIS?

Test results coming soon
