I love my G30 for its power, capacity, and compactness but looking for a better grip and know there are many options out there. Among the popular are the Pearce G30 PG30 extension and the A&G sleeve for the G21 13rd Mag. There are pros and cons to both. Most complain about the gap between the mag well and sleeve for the A&G. My complaint for the G30 finger extension is the open back strap. I found an awesome solution made by Pearce but it is for the G36. has finger and rounded back the fits flush with the back strap (best feature!)

I called Pearce looking if they had the G36 style (which is a +1 extension) and they do not offer one. Said demand not there. I am hoping to get feedback from other G30 owners. Pearce would look into it if there was a greater demand. Let me know what ya'll think or if you have other solutions for grip extensions.

Hello blownbudget, welcome to Glock Talk.

More grip extension options for the G30 45ACP is always a good idea. I hope you get the feedback you seek.

It would be worth the time to review the post of GT member Hogpauls and how he achieved a custom fit of the A&G spacer sleeve and G21 mag for his G30 pistol (link and photo below). I'm not claiming it's an easy solution, but I doubt a supplier could produce a new extension that fits any better.

I'm with D Fingers on the usefulness of the Pearce PG-30 grip extension for the G30 10-rd mag. We have one on every 10-rd mag we own and a Pearce PG-29 for the G30 9-rd mags. They are great additions to improve control and comfort.

I know it all comes to personal preference and most like to have it look good aesthetically. The Pearce PG30 grip fits ok but the open corner from the back of the extension being open it what is uncomfortable for me. The A&G has that gap which doesn't bother me at first grip but read several reports that others have been pinched when firing. Pearce made on extension (+1) for the G36 just don't know why they can't do it for the G30 and give it a +2 with giving it a full grip front and back. hope this is a better picture showing it. (click on pic it will enlarge)

@ Eric
Yes sir. More of what I was looking for. All the plugs I found were more flush that didn't extend down. That may be more of a compromise to what I am looking for. When I started this thread it was more to see if I could get interest for others looking at the Pearce PG36 design. If available (it is not now) would G30 owners be interested... Thanks for the link. I will check it out.

Glock30Eric, thanks for the very helpful post.

One caution I would like to add for any readers thinking of using a grip plug (aka backstrap channel insert), be aware that a grip plug offered by a supplier is specific to the G30 or G30SF. Grip plugs designed for the G30 don't fit the G30SF and vice versa. If you recommend a specific grip plug, please indicate whether your pistol is a G30 or G30SF.

If you look at pearce PG036. http://www.pearcegrip.com/Products/GLOCK/PG-36 you will see that this design would be the perfect fit. They have one for the G36 but not G30. That's why I started this to see if G30 owners would be interested.

Hello,

Here is my Glock 30 with Pearce mag and O-Ring on it, and plug in gap from www.rockyourglock.com. I have sanded the sharp edge from the Pearce mag to prevent pinching my pinky finger.

I hope I have helped you in many ways.
I went with the backstrap plug and pearce grips as you and YES it is a very good and comfortable fit. Can't wait get it to the range and get a good feel when firing.

Hey Glock30Eric, where did you get the o-ring and was it a particular size?

Hey Glock30Eric, where did you get the o-ring and was it a particular size?
Hello,

It would make more sense if you could bring one of your empty magazine to a hardware store where they have several o-rings. You might have to try them on and use your judgment call to see which one fits best. I brought several o-rings with pairs of each sizes and thickness, since they are only like a $0.55 each.

**Maryland state doesn't allow me to carry my gun to anywhere other than my property, ranges, gunsmith, etc. Therefore, if your state allows you to bring your gun a store then that's awesome!**

I brought the o-rings to home and I tried it with G30. If you get a really thick one and it won't seat in G30 well. If you get the medium one and it seat in G30 very tight, but when you load it in G30 and you might have to stamp it in. I am okay with that because the magazine won't move at all while I am shooting with my G30, that is what I want. If you get thin one and it might move little, that's not what I want. Again it is your judgment call and go with whatever you are comfortable with because it is your gun. :)

I hope I helped you in some ways,

God's grace be with you always,

Eric
