Thanks for all the info guys.

I EDC the G27 and am very comfortable shooting it. (some say its "snappy") How does the G29 compare in muzzle flip, recoil, etc?

Thanks again
I have both a G27 and a G29.

From my shooting experiences with SD and target grade ammo, the G29 has more of a thump that a snap like with the G27. A little more recoil, flip, and report than the 40SW out of a G27.

While the G29 is flatter, it is a compact gun that should be properly compared to the G19 and G23 except its grip may be shorter.

The question is can you shoot the most powerful Glock caliber.

I thought the old wise man said, "Carry the most powerful caliber you can accurately shoot."

The G29 carries well IWB.

I have them both because I can, but if I had to choose I'd keep my G29 as I can get conversion barrels and shoot 40SW and 357 sig from than platform plus 10mm.

The G27 only shoots 357 sig and 40SW reliably - 9mm needs an extractor changeout and maybe 9mm mags if you have feeding issues.

G29 over G27 from experience. No jackwagen talkin here.

Some interesting info about 10mm rounds, recoil, and including the G20 and G29. The FBI initially found the rounds too hot.

This has been well-discussed.

Too many small-handed agents and firearms inexperienced agents had problems qualifying with the SW 10mm semi-autos.

The guns IIRC also were not built to handle the Norma rounds as well. It seems like they were real canons back then.

But I know several salty older agents who proudly tell you about their SW 1076 that they still carry.

BTW - they are still carrying 10mm and 357 sig weapons. The resident agency next door to my former employer recommended 357 sig after it blew a BG's leg almost clean off. There is your field test of these magnum type caliber.

I have shot/owned both and all I have is the G29. Its bigger(not by much) but its more "pleasurable" to shoot. I also put wolff recoil springs in the G29 and its a sweet little shooter.
You cant go wrong with a G27 but knowing that you have 10mm fury at your side makes me feel better if and I hope I never have to defend myself.
If the price of ammo bothers you get a 40sw barrel and shoot it for practice and carry the 10 barrel when ccw.

FBI never shot a Glock 10mm.
They were not out yet, before they gave up on the 10mm.
FBI was shooting a top heavy Bren 10 that couldn't comfortably shoot 10mm like Glocks can.
