So far no 33 sig threaded barrel so i think its time to put my comp idea to bed.:eek:uttahere:
A lone wolf G32 threaded barrel would work, it would just be even longer, but you're already going longer with the comp.

Or you could get their ported G32 or G33 barrels.

You start adding aftermarket barrels and tacticool BS you are making a less reliable carry gun. Michael, I say this with a good bit of experience, from mistakes. Don't F with a Glock you intend to carry for protection or put by the bed stand. You want to customize, tinker, and have something special, buy a 1911.

There is a Sponsor Showcase forum a few above this one. Copes Distributing in just the last few days has listed the Desantis Nemesis pocket holster and just today the Pearce grip extenders. The Pearce he has listed will add two rounds to your G27. But it will make gun a bit more hunky as far as printing goes. If your carrying in glove box, not an issue.

The Pearce I got is smaller, added no round capacity, and simply gave me a place to put my pinkie finger. Improved controllability of the gun in a much greater way than I thought. I'm 6'6" 320 lbs and hated this snappy little 40 till I got the Pearce. And the Nemesis pocket holster is the bees knees for pocket carry or glove box carry while providing very fast access to gun. Connectors, 25 cent trigger jobs, $200 sights on a 3" barrel gun, aftermarket barrels, compensators, etc. are just junk to add to a toy.

You want a reliable defense gun, a stock Glock is the way to go. Find a range gun to play with and make it tacky as you want. But a G27 with Pearce extender and a nemeses holster is what I would suggest if you ever plan on protecting you and yours with this gun.

Don't get carried away with the eye candy and hype. More Glocks are ruined than improved in 90% of the threads I have read here over the years. Reason why is simple, people are trying to improve on a near perfect gun.

Thanks Dan. I was just wondering if any one had tried this. I've put the idea to bed.
i agree with the pierce grip ext and desantis Nemesis. Have both on my lcp and kahr cm9.
Since i don't have the 357 sig barrel for my 23, i can always get the threaded barrel and compensator and play with it in the 23 and keep the 26 or 27 stock, depending on what i get.

GAP mag floor plates are awesome! I always had issues maintaining my grip while shooting with my Gen 3 G27. The GAP plates concentrate your fingers on the grip, also it makes drawing much better too.

I'm just the opposite I want the biggest I can conceal in a powerful chambering loaded with premium ammo. I figure increase in size also increases controlability.
This is what I believe as well. Beyond concealability, small sized pistols bring nothing to the table. I prefer the biggest gun I can conceal well and comfortably carry within reason. For most of the year, that's either a G23 or an Ed Brown Exec Carry. During winter months, it can grow to be a full size G20sf or G21sf. I do own a G27 and have found the stories of it being harsh are often exaggerated. I can shoot the G27 about as easily as I can shoot the G23. I used to have a G29 and did find that the recoil with full power ammo caused me to slow shooting considerably to get the barrel back down. It was fine with standard commercial 10mm, but at that point, you might as well go with .40 and gain a couple of rounds in capacity.

hi ya, you guys have a good thread going here. I am going to wade in. as I am about to buy a G27 for carry. the problem for me is that I don't shoot .40SW, only 9mm and 45acp. and I have all the equip and reload both. so do I want to start up another caliber that I don't quite understand or stick with a 9mm that I do? the snappy thing got my attention as I have small hands, and at 72 I am not getting stronger. I thought buy G27 and if the snap is too much for repeat shots get a 40-9 barrel.

Advice is free, feel free.

If you put a comp in it, say a good KKM barrel with comp the slide length at that point is going to be similar in length to the 22's slide because it will add about 1" to the slide length. It will also make the barrel longer to about 4" instead of roughly 3.5".

But that said, you don't need a comp for a 27/33. Yes it will make it somewhat easier to shoot but you're losing concealment due to the longer slide w/comp. I've had 27's in the past and they shoot awesome, honestly I think they shoot just as good and seem to almost be more accurate than the larger models. A compensator one just isn't needed.

I love my G27. It's a great gun. I would only get it if you have 40, want to get into 40 or want the versatility of shooting 40, 9 and 357sig with additional barrels, mags, etc. I like the 40 round and also have a 23 so a 27 was an easy decision. The snap is easy to get used to unless you have weak hands. But if you really don't need another caliber just get the G26.
Another option is try the 27. If it's too rough get a 40-9 barrel like you said, but also get 9mm mags, extractor and ejector which basically converts it to a 26.

I can't recall if it was Mas or others who are not in favor of a compensator (either screw on or a part of the barrel) on a SD pistol because you may be firing the pistol right up against your own body or face, are in a scuffle with the bad guy, or are using your weak hand to keep the slide in battery to make a contact shot. When you pull the trigger, you can injure yourself with the blast from the compensator. With a compensator, you are making more that just down downrange from the muzzle a dangerous place.

Couldn't agree more with two points;

1) Compensators don't pan out for a carry gun when you consider risk vs. gain. A good shooter doesn't need one and it might just injure him in a close quarters contact.

2) Please! Guys! Don't get tempted to pimp out your carry gun with aftermarket crap! It makes a perfectly reliable Glock susceptible to malfunctions. Ask me how I know.

I train cops while on-duty and run CCW classes for citizens on my days off. Almost without exception, EVERY TIME someone dicks with their internals the gun goes down during hard training. It's just science. I buy Glocks often. I knock off the plastic Lego sights and install good steel carry sights. Sometimes night sights but those are mostly useless in real world low light shootings. Then I stipple the frames since I find stock Glocks a little slippery. Bam! Perfect carry pistol. Adding new cool parts is a rookie's attempt at fixing a problem with gimmicks. You don't need that stuff and it's likely to ruin the reliability of your gun.

Of course, there will be guys who say they have 75% of their parts swapped out for titanium gold plated unicorn fart pieces that the Navy Seals use and their pistols run just fine. Well I'm here to tell you I've done it too and I learned my lesson. I see it weekly on the range. Leave your Glocks alone guys. We need them to defend ourselves and our loved ones. If you a e extra money to spend, put it toward ammo and good training.

Thanks everyone for the input.
Have to decide on a g26 or g27 and my local gun store is having Glock days March 27-28.
Get to shoot any model, just pay for ammo. Don't know if they will have any special prucing or not.
May as well try a g33 too...
And will keep it stock except for sights. Really like the Truglow TFO's I have on my XDm 3.8.

Just be careful, if you shoot the 33 you might be getting it. 357sig is lots of fun.

Yes it is. Have a 357 Sig barrel for my g22.
What would you do, get a g33 and buy a 40 S&W barrel or get a g27 and get a 357 Sig barrel. Which glock barrel has more case support?
Not sure on the case support.
I got a 27 to match my 23 cause I am carrying 40. I have a LW 357 sig barrel for the 23 that works in the 27 as well. It's just for fun. If 357 sig was widely available and cheaper I might consider getting the 357 Glock barrel for the 27 and carry it.

I think if you plan on training and shooting the 27/33 a lot the 27 will be cheaper. Here in Ny I can rarely find 357 FMJ and HP are expensive.
