I know, I know, it's a nine so the recoil ain't bad, but which one has the least amount of recoil. I have a G19 and I find it to have a bit more muzzle flip than some other nines I have shot. I am wanting to get a G17 or G34 for a range only gun. How does the recoil of the above guns compare. Less is better.

Not an enormous lot; however, there is perceptably less muzzle flip with a given load as one goes through the family from G26 to G34 (never tried the G17L, but I'd assume it would continue the trend). The difference seems to me more pronounced with lighter bullets at higher velocities.

thw 34 will have the least recoil of the 3 but if your are looking for a renge gun with little recoil I sugest a all metal gun like Beretta, I had one and it was a sweet shooter and the recoil was minimum, never shot a CZ75 but for the weight (2.2LB) seems like recoil would be almost non existant, if I had some xtra money I would get a Single action CZ75!!! by the way I have a 34 and I love it!!!

Perhaps you should also test a few different brands of 115gr FMJ range ammo to find one that has the least felt recoil and muzzle rise.

Our tests on our range indicated that Remington UMC chrono'ed the least fps and had the least muzzle rise. However, it's OAL is a bit shorter than the typical 9mm round and may be a bit too weak to cycle all guns. I made these comparisons in order to find the least recoiling ammo for competition. My G34 didn't like the UMC stuff (occational FTFs)but my S&Ws eat it up without any problem.
