I've not had this problem, but I imagine any applied paint short of a refinish would not be durable and come off rather easy.

Might be a smarter investment and move to simply change out the sights.

 

The only rattle can paint I know of that is resistant to some oils/solvents is Aluma-Hyde

alumahyde and appliance epoxy are both good options for a full refinish

a piece of matte black tape works just as well, for 1/10th the work

 

Any matte black paint will do. BBQ paint is nice - very matte, or camo paint. Just redo it whenever is needed. Function over looks.

 

We used a Bic lighter to black out the front sight post.

Paint and tape? What’s next?

 

First, why are you looking at the bottom of the rear sight notch? That isn't remotely part of your sight alignment and sight picture. In spite of people spending money for special sights with a super-awesome notch shape, all that matters is the top edges of the front and rear sights and the airspace between them on the sides.

Second, I'm pretty sure you are overreacting to a nonexistent problem, since this is the first time in 30+ years of Glock shooting that I have heard that complaint.

 

You mean something like this? Tape the corners if you must.
