Bought it for $237 shipped + $20 transfer

Bench observations:
Black clamshell plastic case, cleaning tools, trigger guard lock
2 mags- both unmarked, steel lined, ambi cuts

Gun: Comes dripping in oil, oil everywhere
All black, front an rear serrations
steel fiberoptic sights -- rear sight is loose- I had to push it back to center and tighten the set screw
Picatinny rail
NOT Optic ready slide
No finger grooves, no grip backplates
Glock style controls for Gen4
3 Glocklike pins - no roll pins or screws.
Extended slide stop lever
Frame has no butt hole- comes with magwell installed - even with magwell removed, no gripspace
Compound Gen4 style spring
Trigger guard is wider than Glocks
Trigger is gritty, stiff, probably about 8-10#
Takedown is same as Glock, but mallet needed to coax the pins in and out.

First thing I did: detail stripped it
Dripping with oil. everywhere
Backplate very difficult to get off-- needed vice to hold the slide and mallet to move the backplate - hit my thumb and bashed a hole in my nail when it loosened and flew off (that's gonna hurt over the next several days)- launched the extractor bearing into space, gone.
Backkplate is all metal
Cleaned all oil out of the channels - cleaned all oil off, greased the slide rails
Trigger housing is gen4 style
Replaced the connector with (-) type and
domed the trigger safety mushroom,
Sanded the trigger dinghus to be flush when pushed in, smoothed out some of the serrations
Replaced metal backplate with another aftermarket polymer one
Parts looked milled (locking block and extractor), rough, not as detailed as MIM-- otherwise all Glock-like gen4 look-alikes-- even the bump on the trigger bar.

Now, Trigger and action much smoother and feels like 5-6#, standard Glock feel.

Should smooth out after real rounds fired. Feeds metal dummies just fine.

Could I have built a gen4 19 clone with all aftermarket parts for for $257 ? - unfortunately if it was OPTIC READY, it would have been a smoking better deal. I guess I didn't notice that when ordering it. Oh well.

I cant get the back plate off yet either. These are a pia to work on compared to glocks. Can you go into more detail on how you got the back plate off? Viced the slide. Mallet? Did you wedge a flat head somewhere or something? Howd you keep the spring depressed while hammering?

i put a metal serpico trigger shoe on mine. Swapped in a new plunger and plunger spring. Lost my extractor spring berring too. Was a pia to do that without getting the backplate off. What a mess. Id like a new striker spring if possible. Im getting the trigger pull kinda nice.

The slide racking action on these is nice. I have the rpx3x with the slide cut at the top, so i swapped in a cheap ported barrel. Its going to take some work, but ill get it all running nice one way or the other.

I put the slide in a vice and used a tool to lever out the backplate as I was holding down the striker. Takes 3 hands.

Be careful as it popped out suddenly and hurt my thumb, and I lost the spring loaded extractor bearing.

Going back on was just as tight using the original backplate. A Glock backplate may be a better replacement.

Interesting piece. Looks like it take Gen3 or 4 parts and beats the Dagger. One of the local big box stores has one for $275. That might be a good garden gun. Meaning in plant it in my blueberry bush pot for the winter to see what happens.

That's about all it is good for. Hands down, the most unreliable pistol I own ... even my SCCY's put the RPX-9 to shame. It's been sent back once for a warranty repair, which did absolutely nothing. My next ... and last ... purchase will be a G19.
