I’m not saying I’m against rifles or anything I own two but they are for just basically plinking toys, I can’t think of any self defense scenario that “I“ might get in that I can say I need a rifle I probably can make up a couple that probably would never happen, but better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. If something happens inside my home I think I’m more likely to grab my glock or sig mpx because it’s more mobile, I don’t stay in a mansion or anything I can see if something happened like outside, but with that being said I’ve never had a situation to where I even had to draw a weapon or any army background so I’m kind of lost on the topic, just for something to get some feedback to read for the day.

you're stepping on a hornet's nest with that question on this site

In a world full of ‘what if’s’ it’s always better to have a tool and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I have absolutely no use for a bump-stock or a suppressor, but I’m not a ‘Fudd’ and I believe that if any American wants one, they should be able to spend their hard earned money on one without government permission.

I have an AR-15 issued to me for my job and own a couple more for recreational shooting. I can see many scenarios where this would be a much better choice than my G23.

Soft armor is cheap and easy to obtain. Criminals and burglars are wearing them sometimes.

Soft armor stops handgun rounds, even from a PCC (with some exceptions like very light 357 Sig or 10mm rounds).

For 99.9% of self defense my 9mm G19 is fine. But like the other day where there was a criminal being chased by police who ditched their car and was hiding in the neighborhood somewhere...

A suppressed 5.56 Tavor was my home defense choice. In a situation where I have time to get set up with my family and shelter in place, I would want the most capable firearm I own.

Good point on the armor.

I wonder if the Vietnamese or Afghanis ever thought....I bet pistols would be enough for our resistance?

I didn't think the advantages of a rifle over a pistol were a mystery.

I clearly said self defense like carrying places and my sig mpx for home defense not war. I tried to make it as comprehensive as I could but some people still can’t comprehend lol.

So I guess you take your rifle everywhere?

Clearly he doesn't or he wouldn't need a pistol to get to it.

A rifle or shotgun trumps a pistol any and all days of the week in regards to power and ease of use. Pistols poke holes. Rifles and shotguns take meat off the bone.
