Had to look them up, never heard of them! I like Froglube ( at the moment). Been using them for the last 3 years.

Whatever you use just don't mix. I had froglube and breakfree and Mobil 1 mixed in various parts of my rifle and they didn't like each other. It jammed my rifle. I'm back to just Mobil 1 now since it's basically free (leftover in bottle from my oil changes)

If you haven't read the science behind it, it's a good read and very interesting. It's funny when we think we know something for years and then find out we don't know ****.

Read the Educate Yourself - The Science pages on their website and then you can decide if you think it's worth using. I just bought a bottle of the Black Rifle Balm and am going to try it out. It's not much more than any other lubricant, but after reading the pages, I'm convinced that it's better than most of what's out there.

I would've given it a shot, but $16.99 + $8.95 S&H for a tiny bottle of grease is a heavy dose of retarded....

ETA- Ok, I found a link on their FB page that offers a "free" full-sized bottle of their Black Rifle Balm for just 1 penny plus the $8.95 S&H. I went ahead and ordered.

I did the same. I'm not hung up on "the best" but I do know grease works better than oil for most friction points and this looks at least as good the white lithium I use.

Definitely worth a shot for the price. I don't normally buy the "newest greatest" snake oil on the market, but this stuff does look pretty promising.

Anxious to try it out!

Am I missing the page with the science? I see a bunch of, “Our grease good, oil bad”, but not any real science?

You are not missing anything. Its the same drivel a lot of the gun lube companies say. Earl army veteran gun lube company has more R&D money and engineers than large oil companies do apparently. Their stuff is magic that those real oil companies whom spent a 100+ years and billions of dollars on could never figure out. This stuff is the "new hotness" for internet operators now. In a year or two another one will come along. Now give me $16 for a few ounces so you too can be a tier one super dooper operator.

There are nine pages, that's just the first page. Read them all, good info and very scientific. If you want to keep with the stuff you've always been using, it's a free country. I'm gonna try it out.

I read through them all, but there’s really nothing scientific about their product listed on those 9 pages, nor any scientific testing. There’s general info about lubrication with oil and grease. It’s a little misleading.
Nothing wrong with trying a new product. I’m currently looking for a new line of products since my Frog Lube is nearly gone. I have to say that I’ve really, really, like Frog Lube. I bought a sample pack or Breakthrough products and will try them.

I was referring more to the oil vs grease argument. Tons of compelling stuff there to me, and I've been using oil (and likely too little oil) for my entire gun life.

If you slather things in oil, they will work better. But, as they state, oil flows the particulates into the friction surfaces, and not away from them. Plus, it flows out and evaporates because it's an open system without oil lines, pumps and tanks, leaving the crud on the friction surfaces when the oil is gone.

I'm not saying I'm going to get a Cherrybalmz tattoo or anything, but I like the argument made for grease, and particularly the right grade of grease. I'm sure there are probably other products that work in a way similar to Cherrybalmz, but for $17 bucks for a bottle that will last me likely a few years, I want to see how it works.

I'll check out Frog Lube also, heard of it but never did any research on it. Thanks for mentioning it.

I’ll be watching for your review. I do think Frog Lube is worth a shot if you’re open to it. IMO, a lot of people who don’t like it, use way too much of it. It should almost be imperceptible to the eye, but slightly tacky to the touch.
Good luck. It hard to sort through the BS and find a system you like - which I think is really all it comes down to.

I'm trying it right now. Haven't put a ton of rounds down range yet though.
Let me know how you like it.

Like rainman33 said, there's no scientific testing, which I think they should do. My guess is that if they did a test where they shot thousands of rounds, people probably wouldn't agree with it anyway because people would say, "I'd never shoot that many without adding more oil." But, I think the fact that we all see wear marks and scarring tells us that the friction is happening regardless of how much or little oil that we use.

I probably don't shoot enough to really get the benefit out of it and clean my guns enough that they don't crud up too much, but I'll use it for the same reason I use synthetic diesel oil in my F250 and change it every 5k. I want to give it the best protection that I can. :flag:

Can't hurt to try it out!
