I have had a mild interest in a Tokarev for a while. When I found a Yugoslavian
Tokarev for a good price in 9mm, I had to buy it. Anyone have one?

My FFL( my son) will deliver it tomorrow. Looking forward to shooting it next week.

I purchased one in January. I like it, but haven't taken it to the range as yet. Trying to stretch my ammo supply a bit. It's a well-made gun, though the machining is a little rough under the hood, as I was warned. Nothing bad, just not what you normally see. I ended up with serial number 475.

American Rifleman did a write-up last week and it was positive.

Thanks for the American Rifleman link.
For $239.95 plus $15.00 shipping it should be worth it. The gun comes with two mags. For a mostly range toy that is enough mags for me.
You'll like it. I originally was going to purchase one through Classic Arms, but they were out-of-stock, so I bought one through J&G Sales. Seems like one dealer will have them, but not the others.

The Zastava website lists this model as a "M70AA," which has the external safety. I'm guessing the "M70A" listed is the non-U.S. version w/o the safety. The "M70" is an altogether different gun. I used to have a website for extra mags, but the website's not active anymore, so I went to the Zastava website with no luck. Hope I get lucky one of these days!

Very cool. I dont have that pistol but I do have a Zastava Z5 rifle in .22lr. I used it when I shot a bit of Silhouette in the sporter division. I can say one thing. They make good guns. That $250 Zastava(i believe at one time it was imported and also sold as the Remington model 5) and a $99 Intensity Optics scope gave the CZ guys and their pricey Leupolds FITS :). Some of them would get downright mad getting outshot by or equaled by a rifle annd scope combo that cost me $375 tops(including mounts and risers for the scope).

While I dont have that pistol I feel that Zastava makes some decent stuff.

Interesting. A Yugo Tok in 9mm?

The only 9mm Tok I knew of is the NORINCO and I got one of them suckers.

I wouldn't mind having a Yugo 9mm Tok, but yes, mag might be a problem. One or two mags ain't enough. I gotta worry about Blue Helmet invasion!!!
I sent an email to Zastava's Marketing Dept. yesterday about obtaining mags. I received a reply from them this morning that mags will be available through Century Arms in July. Not sure how that will work, as Century usually does business with dealers.

Congrats!

But now I am gonna get my bac up  and sneer disapprovingly at putting a 9mil in a classic combloc pistol. The Zastava should ONLY be allowed with its Tok 7.65x25 round!

There are appropriate rounds for pistols and then there are some unnatural abominations. 9mm in a Zastava Tokarev is the latter.

Great you got the pistol! Pity it is in the wrong caliber!:crying:

Oh, I have a Zastava M70 in 7.62x25. It is a firebreather in that round! Not the most refined pistol out there, but it goes bang. You will have a blast with it. Expect comments at the range!
