Anyone have one of these? My son bought these for me since we now have three grandkids. This way I can safely keep a G17 handy...

I have more faith in this than yours.. I have one ....and also a V-Line .....and an unknown brand even heavier.
They all have the same Simplex lock and I set them all to the same combination. DAMN these are expensive now though!

Amazon.com: FORT KNOX Original Pistol Box (PB1), Security for pistols, handgun, California DOJ Certified, Quick-Access Mechanical Lock, Heavy-Duty Steel : Sports & Outdoors
For easy transfer from room to room or car to car I use the book...if I want more security.... I use this much heavier Fort Knox.... I have more faith in mechanical vs batteries...

I have one of these (Gun Vault) attached behind a nightstand. With a AA lithium battery.

I can open it in about three (3) seconds, maybe less, without looking and/or in complete darkness. The lower part pivots about 30*, and there is an interior light that stays on for a few seconds after it opens.

It isn't really going to deter theft, but it does keep it out of the hands of the wee ones.

I've had it several years, and am pretty happy with it.

I have several of them. I like the more realistic hollow books better than most of the metal ones. I figure when it's the size of a book there isn't much point in having a lock. They have some good ones at Hobby Lobby and places like that. I have one that's a bible and one that's a biography of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

Man I'd personally have a hard time trusting a 3-digit combo with little kids around. You'd be surprised at their ingenuity.

If you need a gun around the house put a 42 in your pocket.
Kids aren't left here unattended. My grandkids are 1,3, and 6. See how long it takes you to pick a 3 digit number and then turn the knob each time. With all the toys in this house, I've yet to see one take a book out of the bookshelf...

No kids... just hollowed out a gun shape in a thick book. I glued the pages together around the cutout.
I have loaded Glocks prepositioned everywhere I sit and I always carry one on my person, anyhow.

Great thing, could someone send me a link to buy this chest? I think it would make a wonderful gift for my sister. Agree that kids are so inventive. One time, my sister noticed how Dan (her son) independently found this website gradesfixer.com/lit/on the internet to make his tasks easier. I remember how much fun we had back then, and Dan remembers it too. I think it's cool when kids are so progressive. By the way, the website he found had some amazing educational tools for children.
