I noticed when I tried a new belt that the Fobus GL2 paddle holster will trip the mag release of a G19 with certain combinations of belt and waistband material. I cut a relief in my GL2 to clear the release button. My G19 is Gen 2.

ADDED: my GL2 is an old one, with just the rivets. From the 90s. I've used it a lot, with no problems.

I'd recommend recycling the Fobus (unless something has drastically changed in the past 12 years.) My first one was junk when I first started carrying. I think I used it for about a week. I remember practicing a draw and the whole holster coming off my belt with the pistol inside. Not good. A buddy of mine had his completely break.

I've got several Fobus paddle holsters (newer ones) and they have worked fine for me. I only use them for hunting and when I'm in the woods. They stay on my belt when I pull my gun out. Don't think I would use them for CCW though, they don't hold the gun close enough to my body. Works great for what I use them for.

Like shock I've used Fobus paddles for years but only when I'm in the woods, open-carrying, etc. For the $ I think they're great holsters but for ccw I'm an IWB guy and if I carried owb regularly I'd have to have one that's just right and broken-in, not loose but one that doesn't hold the gun like a vise.

Fobus are junk. No offense intended to anyone. They're not safe, not secure, and not sturdy.
No offense taken. How are they unsafe? Unsecure? My gun has never fallen out. I am aware it isn't a security holster. Mine has been used for several years and still functions just fine.

It isn't solely about price. I have several more expensive holsters, one being a Safariland with the ALS but it was a matter of convenience. Since I am a lefty, it was in stock and I didn't have to wait.

It goes on/off easily and has served me well

Like some others I only use the Fobus when out in the woods. I like the way my Glock "clicks" into place and stays there.

Some have complained that when drawing it can crack the plastic or rivets, but if properly drawn --- a quick "up and out" --- there have been no problems or complaints from me.

In addition to the hit and miss retention and questionable build quality, the holster kind of sticks out like an extra appendage, inviting a gun grab. In my mind this in and of itself isn't problematic, but when combined with the other two attributes, makes it a bad choice for any situation where you might encounter other people.
