Blue Alpha Gear is your friend. But when I carry outside the waistband, I switch to a Daltech synthetic belt and put it on backwards (I’m a lefty.)

For appendix inside the waistband, I carry at about 11 o’clock, it fits right in the crease of the oblique above your groin. Also reverse the BAG belt so that the flap is on my right.

The Wilderness Low pro EDC belt has a buckle, but it is really, really small, basically a pivot point for the belt. I got one over a year ago and love it. I haven't worn my Instructor since then. It is the exact same belt as the Wilderness Instructor but with a tiny, very lightweight buckle. You can't rappel with it, but then who honestly needs that feature in an everyday belt?

I like my Mastermind Tactics Specialist Pro. I have several. They still have as an option, if you ask, a very small metal buckle that slips through all the belt loops. That is my favorite.

he's probably looking for experience with something akin to a liner/inner belt. maybe check out safariland or similar.

I’ll second blue alpha. No traditional buckle, just a polymer loop where the belt goes through and feeds back on itself.

Blue Alpha Gear makes phenomenal cobra-buckle belts that utilize a velcro length to adjust belt size. also, made in America and great customer service and warranty (it my be lifetime). I have two of their EDC belts with cobra buckles, and one of their larger range belts with the larger cobra buckle. Finest belts for carrying I've ever known.
