I have Ameriglo Hackathorn sights on my G19 (edc):

I prefer a very visible front sight and an all black rear sight.

However, as you look at different options - it comes down to personal preference.
I agree except I like the U notch rear sight. I just sold a G17 with AmeriGlow sites which I thought was great night sight. Very low light rear site with a bright front sight. My EDC is a G19 with Trijicon XD sights which I really, really don't like for night sights. I subscribe to the theory get your front sight on the target and go. I might be wrong actually dead wrong but makes sense to me.

I prefer the single dot on the rear sight. That way I know I’m not crossed up. But then again, shooting blindly into the dark could land someone in handcuffs.

They are available from Glock Inc, I just sent my slide to them, took about two weeks to get there and back, they will also check the slide parts and install new ones if any are worn.
I cannot remember the price, sent it UPS and they returned my slide with the new sights FED EX, return shipping is included in your price, around $65 and tax I think.

You send your slide to Glock, and they install them...they are pretty cheap.
Why would you mail off your slide and wait weeks without your gun, when installing sights is a 5 minute job any monkey can do? The only special tool you arguably need is a tool to fit the front sight screw, which comes with a lot of brands of sights and is cheaper than postage if it doesn't. At worst, if you are so mechanically incompetent you have trouble fastening your own seatbelt and can't put sights on a Glock, gun shops will often put them on while you wait.

That's great in the light, but when it is fairly dark how do you see if your front is properly aligned with the rear?

I like TruGlo's TFO/TFX sights because both the front and rear are illuminated at night and the fiber optic makes them better than normal night sights in the daytime, too.

My favorite are the standard Glock Night Sights.
