Found one today at a little pawnshop for $299. Put it on layaway. It's a Beretta made in Italy, so it can't be all bad?

I prefer a good semi-auto riot gun for HD. What I know about this gun: 6+1, 20 in. barrel. Recoil-inertia operated (not gas like the Remington 11-87). Difference between the 1200FP and the 1201FP is that the 1201FP takes 3 in. shells also. I don't mind only using 2-3/4 in. shells.

Did I get a fair deal?

Here's a reference pic or two:

yes...ver similar to the Benelli...high quality and I think you stole it for that price...doesn't seem to be too well known (I was looking at these awhile back) but I would think the Beretta name should carry the day...anyway...being off the regular radar allows some to get them for killer prices like yours...enjoy you lucky dog... :D

My 1200fp has 3'' magnum stamped on the barrel.

I'm having trouble finding a full gun photo.

I had been looking for a semi-auto shottie. I didn't care for the Saiga too much as the mag made handling a little clumsy for me.

Can't complain about an Italian semi-auto shotgun for $300.

As long as it wasn't in terrible condition this sounds like a fair deal.
