So as usual I was a little slow on the uptake on this one, but I must say I AM IMPRESSED!!!! 😳😳😳

I've known like all that the G19 IS the END ALL TO BE ALL, and easily THE BEST HANDGUN IN THE WORLD!!! I've ran and carried a G19 (or G23) for years, a G26 has been my go to for probably the last 16 years or so, and the past 7 or so my G42 was my "no ecuse to not have a gun" gun. I've never really liked anything more power than a G26 in that size or smaller (aside from the G42). I avoided the G43 as I was worried about shooting a 9mm well from anything smaller than the G26, so I figured why bother looking at the 43 when it hit?

Then I found the Shield Arms S15 while hunting for a .380 with more than 6 rounds or so...........

Oh dear Lord!! 😳🤯😳🤯😳

FIFTEEN ROUNDS OF 9MM, AND IT FITS IN MY POCKET?! AND ANOTHER FIFTEEN IN A SPARE MAG?! 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Needless to say I have NO reason to every feel either under-armed or under-gunned every AGAIN!! I am MORE than impressed and that only happens few and far between! 😁😁😁

Exactly, no thanks to guns with iffy mags you have to "test" to be sure they work right for you.. and guns my full hand cant fit on lol. no pinky dangling/haning(and I dont have big hands i get a full grip on a LcpMax) off lol. I could use a aftermarket higher cap mag in my Glock 43X.... I dont though becasue there are far too many threads here on GT(and elsewhere) talking about how "reliable or unreliable" they are... no thanks.. if you have to ask, check, be sure it MAY work..its nothing I need(this goes for Shield and PSA mags both have their threads here..multiple talking about their reliability....or LACK thereof).

No, I stated I "avoided the G43 for years" as I did and had no need for a SIX round run that jumped around more than the G42, that I could not get a grip on. The G43X FIXED the grip issue AND gave me 15 rounds!!! 🤯 🤯 🤯 THAT got my attention. :)

If those mags work reliably in your 43X, then congratulations! The Shield Arms mags are notorious for reliability issues; some people claim they work perfectly, some people say they are trash. So please test them before carrying them.

Regardless, the 43X is a fantastic firearm. I completely trust mine with 10+1 rounds. I don’t feel under-gunned, even if I don’t carry a reload.

You need 1 more item, the Shield Arms metal mag release, or the bare metal of their mags will chew up the plastic stock Glock release. It'll work as is for a while.... until it suddenly doesn't & then no mag will stay seated or retained. It's a must have if you plan to use those mags for any significant amount of time.

I just joined the 43x club myself, should be picking it up this week. Check out the PSA Micro Dagger mags, 15 rounds like the Shield mags but they don't require you to change the mag release. I'm going to be honest I'd prefer to stick with OEM for defense use but I'm probably going to try the PSA mags strictly for the range. If they prove reliable I might carry one as a spare.

I just got a G43x as well and ordered a few of the PSA Dagger mags, as they do not require the release change and seem to be working well.

However, I backed into this as I was a SIG guy. Tonight I picked up a G26 gen 5 from GunBroker for a pretty sweet deal with extra mags and a few IWB holsters. However, I picked up a G30S a little while back and found it fit in an OWB 26 holster just fine. So, I should be able to swap between the 26 and the 30.

I was never a micro 9 guy. So I may have picked up the the 43 too soon, but I want to shoot them back to back and see which I prefer. The 43x is a bit small for my hand but not too much so. I will be running 19 mags with an X-grip as well. Watching a bunch of videos while fatter, this setup is still a little shorter (grip wise) thank the 43x.

Post 9,
I understand better regarding the title, post 1, and the thread. Thanks:)

I’ve had zero issues with my shield mags. But I don’t carry them. At this point I’d trust them, but most days I feel perfectly fine with the factory capacity mags in my 43x. Before I got the 43x I felt comfortable with a smith in either a mod 36 or 642 or the loved/hated keltec p3at. I’ve carried that .380 a lot of places and always made it a point to shoot it about once a month before I’d wipe it down. Never let me down. But I gave it to my dad after I picked up a 43x.

I've been running 3rd Gen 15 rounders in my 43X without any issues. I also run Z9 mags when I am using my 43 frame on my X slide and have had zero issue until today. Now I have some of the first Z9 mags so there is that.

Today at the range this morning, they still fed 100% without fail, but started not locking the slide back on the last round. Again they still worked, just no slide lock. Springs took a dump apparently.
I contacted Shield Arms and I have new springs on the way at no cost. I still have no complaints, and springs crapping out are not inclusive to Shield, and they responded very quickly with a solution. Very happy with their response. They did also say they were sending the new heavier update springs as well.

What I would say is based on the fact they are sticking a lot of rounds in a small space, I would recommend having some extra springs on hand in case of a failure.

Let us know how your mags work out for you, OP.
My Gen 1, 2 & 3 Shield mags all work reliably.
