Holy crap - this sight is a game changer!
I've been avoiding red dots for a while, as I mounted one once and struggled finding the dot quickly. So, I figured I could get on my iron sights faster in an "I'm being charged by a bear or mountain lion" situation. But now that I've become pretty handy with Glock 40, I decided to try a red dot for real.
I took it to the range today and the ability to see a distant target AND the sight clearly is like having young eyes again. There was just no way to do this before - my distance vision is great, but the actual pistol sights were always fuzzy. So, I'd resorted to buying some shooting glasses with reader bifocals in the top part of the lens. This allowed me to see the sight clearly, but then the targets were fuzzy. 25 yards was spray and pray! But not with the red dot!
This target was shot rested, about 20 rounds, mostly at 15-20-25 yds. And the flyers weren't even at 25 yds, they were true flyers from flinching or pulling as I got tired and punchy. I'd been shooting before I starting sighting in the red dot.
Color me impressed - I'm going to keep working on my draw so I can always find the dot quickly from muscle memory, but in terms of accuracy, I am totally impressed. My shooting glasses with corrective lenses are now obsolete (at least with this pistol)! What fun to feel like you have young eyes again!
