Anyone here have a Gen 1 17L"C"? If I wind up getting it would want to get the correct sights, etc on it.
Not so sure they were G17L --> "C". I think they were "P".

The first gen's were mostly all ported barrels I believe. The cutouts on top of the slides are on all 17L's.The 17L is the lightest standard frame Glock made; as they were intended for competition.

The barrel ports on the gen 1 are not like later gens (like found on a 17C or 19C today). They stopped porting barrels like you see on this one on later models. The port design on Glock barrels changed over the years in subsequent generations.

I wouldn't worry about sights. The adjustable sights are still found on gen 3's. I would use that as price negotiation along with f'd up finish.

To me a perfect specimen would maybe fetch $1200. But, that's me.
Add: the adjustable sights look the same to me on my gen 2 and gen 3 17L's. I think you can replace them to original with little effort.

Congrats brother :D!!!

Glad to see the pistol going to someone who'll appreciate her

Stupid question, but are you going to restore her?

Probably Cerakote it to look like a Nintendo Glock...

Jk I’ve been in touch with some other owners of same gun. They will share as much detail with me as possible so I can get it as close to original as possible which includes finding someone to parkarize slide and barrel most likely.

Congrats!!! You'll love it. The value will only increase over time.

You can send the slide to Glock and they will refinish it back to factory look for $80, if I remember correctly.
Slide and barrel together at $60. See https://us.glock.com/documents/GLOCK Warranty.pdf

I wouldn't send them the barrel. The downside to having Glock refinish the slide is that it would most likely come back with the lackluster Gen4-type finish.
It would certainly come back with current finish.

Add: the original finish is illegal to do anymore. Both the U.S. EPA and European Union outlawed those chemical process's and is why Glock and the rest changed chemical process's.
Tenifer isn't a finish. It's a metal treatment process before the finish. It's my understanding that slides and barrels sent back for refinish don't get a new metal treatment. Just the nitride finish.

Glock might raise a fuss about stripping the non-factory finish. Very interested in before and after followup pics once project is completed if you would be kind enough.
Definitely will. Glock said they would use their newer process, Although I do like the newer finish I think this one deserves to be brought back to how it left the factory.

Whatever current GLOCK factory finish is used to restore the slide and bbl would be preferable than any aftermarket company refinish (JMO).
