507c auto brightness question

Hey guys,

I got a 507c for my g19 to replace my Vortex Venom that I moved over to my g34 that I use for uspsa. The Venom is a great dot but really isn't robust enough for a defense weapon in my opinion.

I was having trouble deciding between the RMR and the 507c, the side loading battery tray was the deciding factor. I have the 507k on my 43x and it has worked perfectly so I was already down with Holosun. Yes I know it's made in China and no I don't care.

My question for those of you who also have it is in regard to the autobrightness. In daylight or even in a room with light it works really well but in complete darkness or even low light the dot is far too dim for me to precieve. I use the Dot only and I basically can't see it at all in low/no light. With the circle reticle on it is better but still not great. Now if this is the way it is for everyone that is fine I guess I was just spoiled by the Venoms amazing autobrightness feature. So is it a similar situation with yours? In daylight or a well lit room it works perfectly, it's only in low light that it's an issue.

I did some Google searchs and saw a few others with similar results. People mentioned it being a setting or 2 too low in certain lights. If I was in a dark room aiming into even a dimly lit room I wouldn't be able to see it at all on auto brightness

So let me know guys is it just mine or are they all like this? I am using energizer batteries currently if that matters.

In complete or near dark the auto setting offers up the night vision setting, nearly impossible to see with the eye but with a night vision scope it’s perfect. You will also find that in a dark setting ( a tunnel) looking out into a bright daylight you will loose the reticle if on auto. This is common to any auto brightness unit. I keep mine on a medium setting and if needed adjust from there.

My holosun was performing perfectly in dark rooms untill it didnt. Yesterday all out of a sudden it was very dim for sunlight and same thing for dark rooms. I removed the battery and placed it back in and the sunlight setting is ok, can't say the same for the low light. So ce it was performing just fine I can't understand what the issue might be.

Depends on the sensor, and cannot account for all circumstances. For example, shooting from a shaded area where the sensor is in the shade and shooting into a brightly lit area - the unit will darken the dot, and you may not see it contrasted in the bright sunlight - the reverse happens if shooting from bright setting into a dark zone - the dot will be way too bright.

Same problem with transition lens sunglasses.

I understand what you mean, however I have that sight for more than 2 years and it wasn't like that untill now. I could use it with ease during nighttime even if I had my flashlight on. Something happened and I can't even reset it. Removed the battery and clean the solar panels. Nothing seems to help the situation.
