Hey guys, so I'm starting to look at the 43x mos for EDC. I am hoping to snag one with factory night sights and was wondering if anyone knew what other optics co witness without supressor sights beside the shield arms one. I'm mostly curious about the 407k or 507k from holosun. There was a video on YouTube that showed a 43x that cowitnessed with the 507k but he never said anything about mos so I think his may have been cut for it. The Romeo zero looks pretty tiny but with that I don't know how durable it would be, thats the same concern I have with the shield arms one. Let me know what you guys think.

The RMSc is the only RDS that I am aware of that allows you to use standard height sights. The slide must be milled.

And, as MajorD noted, cowitness applies to rifles, not pistols. One doesn't cowitness with a pistol - you use the irons as backups.

I mean in my defense many people call this co-witnessing. Yes they are back up sights but you knew exactly what I was talking about and I am def not the only person who calls it that. It sounds like your just trying to be helpful by at least offering a reason why but there are people on here sometimes I swear that just want to hear themselves speak.

No not really in regards to if I got an answer about the 507k I was planning to run. Someone posted pictures for me on reddit of his 43x with the 507k and it looked like the may be usable but just barely. I ended up going with a p365xl and decided against a red dot because the rear sights come off completely and p365xl front sight is a drift sight which my tool only does rear sights. The sheild rmsc is very thin, if I had to bet money I would bet that it does cowitness fine with the 43xmos stock height sights. The pictures the guy took for me on reddit made it look like the 507k was right on the edge of working or not working. With night sights that sit ever so slightly higher it'd work out great I bet.

MOS with plate sits a bit high - a usual suppressor height was not enough for leupold dpp on my g34. i used this set for co-witness, it is higher than a usual suppressor set.
if you go here:
that set is labeled as '3XL'. with DPP those sights sit at same exact level as the DPP top plate, so you can use them, but they do not show up in the window, you can only see their tops and it works just fine.
if you want co-witness to be protruding into the lower third of the red dot sight window - you need a set with 5XL - like a GL-682.

also, pay attention to the 'except 42/43'.

I've read this thread with great interest as I'm looking for info about iron sights for back up on a 43X MOS.

I'll be picking up my 43X MOS and a C&H mounting plate on Friday and have a Holosun 507K X2 waiting on it. I'm looking for BUIS that are visible/usable in the window but don't want co-witness or any type of "lighted sights" as I prefer plain black front and rear sights.

so my question to Paul73 is with what you were disusing in your post, what height sights are needed with the 507K on the mounting plate?

Hey guys, so I'm starting to look at the 43x mos for EDC.
also, red dot on the EDC is not quite convenient. i looked at g43 and went with p365 instead, and i also looked at the p365xl with the RDS on it - i do not see much of a practical benefit in this setup.
i have a light/laser tlr-6 on it, and it is all i need. an RDS in the IWB holster has a tendency to catch the shirt and presses into appendix a bit, i personally do not like it there.
if it is intended to be in the OWB holster or under the arm - sure, no issues, but, for the usual IWB - nope. it only increases the size, plus, the chances of it to be actually needed, plus time to engage the RDS in the emergency - i see no benefit in having it, at all.

For you perhaps, but the RMSc on my Hellcat is the best thing I have ever done. Did not have to change factory sights either, as the co-witness was spot on. Trying to see if anyone else has the RMSc/factory night sights on the 43X and if the co-witness worked.

Maybe it works for some guns/sights/RDS combinations but not others. I had the Riton X3 Tactix MPRD optic on my G48MOS initially set up to co-witness with the stock sights and it was a complete disaster. I inquired at the range shop and my LGS and the responses were the same, just zero the dot and forget about co-witness. Apparently if you desire a proper co-witness, suppressor-height fixed sights are the way to go, but I'm just taking their word for it.

Since I see this post still getting some activity figured I’d update it.

I went with the 507k and gl-105 ameriglo sights. They are I dot tritium made for the slim lines specifically and they cowitness perfectly. To the naked eye they look maybe a mm, give or take, higher then the standard sights. with these, the 507k and CHPWS filler plate I get perfect cowitness, the 507k body cuts off just a bottom hair of my tritium but I can align they front sight with the top of the rear sight and still see plenty of tritium to make dead on shots with the dot off.

a HUGE improvement to the 43x was adding the tlr7 sub. The added muzzle weight combined with the clamp that makes almost like a gas pedal I can shoot much faster without my groups opening at all.

combine all this with a tenicor sagax lux holster and you have the perfect Carry setup

EDC is a 48MOS with a RMSc. It doesn’t require a plate but a very thin template, which you don’t really need. Dot sits low enough that I co-witness with standard sights. I currently have standard Ameriglo night sights on mine.

The RMSc has a cut out in the rear so you front sight remains visible. I think this is the best setup. Only issue is availability and expense of the RMSc. I like the RMSc because it is more streamlined then the others.
