Olight vs Streamlight

Hello Fellow Members:

I am searching for the "perfect" light for my G29 that is the most versatile with other holsters and transferable to other Glock subcompact and standard platforms (G21, G23, G17, etc.)

Any input would be helpful and appreciated.

I like Streamlights. I have used the TLR1 for 20 years. Love it. I just got a TLR7 for my G19. I've only had it a few days but I really like it. Good luck in your quest.

I chose Streamlight when I converted to LED and lithium batteries. I still own every one I’ve bought and they all work great.

Another vote for Streamlight. Have them for multiple Glocks and couldn’t be happier. The brightness, ease of use/button placement, and the non-bulky profile were all selling points. Plus searching for compatible holsters yielded more than enough options. Also the option to change batteries without removing the light is clutch.

I have a couple of Olights and a Streamlight TLR-1 HL. Olight is good, but Streamlight is great. Much brighter and throws beam farther.

I guess I'll be the contrarian. I have a handful of each. After the last thread on the same topic (there are about 20) I sorted through and have three broken Streamlights I'll send in in January. They were replaced with Olight and a Brinyte. Olight has proven more durable than Streamlight for me, none have broken or failed.

I've been happy with InForce and Holosun as well.

Other than breaking, there really is not a lot of differences. Equal rated lights threw the same light, slight differences in controls.

Get the Streamlight TLR-7A Flex. I only use Streamlight and have nothing bad to say.

My vote is Sreamlight. Olight poses as an American business but my first, and last one I ordered "shipped" from China. That being said it has been a very durable light.

I have plenty of both and honestly they both run great. SL consists of TLR-1, TLR-2 and TLR7a. The o lights I have are the PL-3 Valkyrie and the PL Pro Valkyrie.

I’ve had one on/off switch go bad on a TLR-2 but that’s it.

I’ve run the stream lights more harder however. No complaints about either but I will say that the battery life on the Streamlight seems to run a little longer, that’s the one thing I’ve noticed in any differences.

lots of o-light hate on the net, I find it unwarranted.

Your best chance at finding a holster you like is to go with Streamlight or Surefire. There are other weapon lights that are great but finding a holster to go with a G29 and something other than a TLR-7 will require a bit more work.

I have a Streamlight for my Mossberg 590 shotgun and a Streamlight for my Glock 30. Been very very happy with them and no issues plus the price is significantly less than Surefire

Streamlight earned my business over Surefire with their rechargeable batteries as well. I'm not sure if that's changed, but for a long time it was strictly CR123s with Surefire. If you use a flashlight all night on a shift, that gets expensive really fast. I can't say I ever felt like Streamlight produced something inferior either.

I have both brands, and I like both brands. However, I will admit that it is much more difficult to find holsters that accommodate the Olight.

Have both. No problems with either, but due to the excellent customer service i recieved from streamlight to remedy an issue that was in no way their responsibility I strongly reccomend them. This isnt to say olight has bad c.s., Ive never dealt with them.

My experience is with Stream Light.

I have several [3] TLR-1'z, most are HL version [1000 lumens]. Couple of TLR-7'z, nice size [only 500 lumens].
I have found them very reliable and high quality, good battery life.

For God sakes don't use them [mounted] to mark a human target...
You could risk a possible Wanton Endangerment felony charge.

I will go Surefire or Streamlight but never Olight, they don't stand behind their products and is a PITA to make a warranty claim, they will make all kind of stoopid questions to not replace your light for a new one.
Last time they said that if I don't have the receipt of the purchase, they won´t take my claim...
Surefire or Streamlight have never asked me a question and they will repair or replace the lights if they fail...
Surefire X300 turbo is my choice!
