Another interesting point: Now that I ordered a new RSA and mag springs, I noted that on Glock's website, it shows the RSA markings as 0-9-2. My RSA is stamped 0-9-1. I did call back to verify that was correct, since I'm ordering online, and they said yes but were unsure as to technically why it was changed.

So, new mag springs and RSA inbound. Was probably fair, to be honest. Gun doesn't look like it's had a lotta rounds downrange, but it also could've been shot a lot but immaculately maintained.

If it was unfired or barely fired that might have something to do with it too. I had a lone failure to extract with Blazer Brass 124s in my 43x when I first got it. Ever see someone try running 380 in a 9mm? That's exactly what it seemed like. I think I got a slightly under powered round, that plus the 43x being new was like a perfect storm.

Good to know their 38/357 is good. I wouldn't mind checking their stuff out even if it's just to get some extra brass.
I'm avoiding the blazer brass. I hate not knowing if a malf is the ammo or the gun. Blazer brass has malfed in a few of the 9mms my son and buddy shoot. CZ shadow 2 blue and orange.

See that's strange. I ran probably 3 or 4 thousand of Blazer Brass 115 gr FMJ 9mm and nary a problem or I don't recall any. It was decent, somewhat dirty burning ammo.

I've never had an issue with Blazer before that but I'm still 99% sure it was the ammo. I haven't had an issue before or since that lone malfunction. I tried to replicate the issue and couldn't make it fail. Even with cheap Scorpio FMJ it ran great. I ran the rest of that box of Blazer and another with no issues, no issues with 2 boxes of Federal either. I've never had an issue with my carry ammo either. It had to have been a single underpowered round. Now if a gun has issues with multiple types of ammo I know it's the gun.

I appreciate it man, I'm calling them today. Hopefully, they'll wanna see it. Regardless of whatever the cause is, I do believe the gun/mags are also problematic for sure. 10-12 failures not counting the defective and out of spec ammo, in 350 rounds? Not acceptable.

The only other gun I've ever owned that failed this much or more was a Taurus G3, and it was the only unreliable Taurus I've owned; every other Taurus I owned was 1-2 failures per 1000 and several of them simply never choked.. Polishing the heck outta the feed ramp, not realizing until later it was the extractor claw having a bad burr, I kept working on it and ultimately put a lot of ammo through it to get it running. I never was going to trust it, and it was running when I traded it in at a loss. Shoulda just kept it, but live and learn.

Yeah, that's pretty awesome and I'm not normally into the wild stuff. It's like a sci-fi Glock, and I dig it. Does that aggressive porting really keep it flat shooting?
It does keep that muzzle flat. It is like shooting with an aggressive brake as well. You can feel the blast

Sounds like you got some good information from Glock. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
Well, the RSA and mag springs are ordered. As mentioned, I'm just gonna give the gun a fresh start, like a new 0 miles motor. Everything else in the gun looks pretty damn good. I did ask if it could perhaps be an out of spec barrel or frame, etc, and his reply was that if it ever ends up coming back to us, that'll be precisely the stuff we're looking for. So, I'm invested now. :D

I recently got a 30S myself and have had issues. I got it used knowing it had a trigger issue. I fixed that by cleaning it and then putting it back together correctly. That fixed the trigger. My problem was the mag springs were the old follower and springs. Also my RSA was 0-9-1 and I spoke to Glock and they recommended the 0-9-2 RSA so I will update that and then shoot 100 or so rounds out of it to break in the new mag springs and RSA. I was using 200 grain FMJ from my friend. He had it left over in his stash. It wasn’t reloads but rather “reman” I don’t remember where from. So next time I am going to run Speer Lawman

Very cool! Yeah, I'm gonna just order Blazer Brass 230 gr FMJ and Blazer Brass 230 gr JHP. They're both highly, highly rated, and very good price. Blazer Brass is the #1 .45ACP ammo on TargetSports, and I've had nothing but solid results with Blazer stuff in the past. Even their super cheap lead RN .22LR still ran decent, just dirty and leady as heck. :D

I just picked up 300 rounds of 45acp….dont tell my wife lol….Rural King had a 100 round box of Winchester white box, some blazer 230 grain fmj on sale and a 100 round box of Armscor FMJ. So I will try that too in addition to a box of Speer lawman that I have.

I just caught something that I failed to notice... the G30 uses .45 AUTO ammo. How is that round different than .45acp?

It's not. Some manufacturers don't want to put ACP because it stands for Automatic Colt Pistol. So they use auto instead

Blazer Brass, I have even shot the Aluminum case Blazer not a hiccup out of my G30. Try some Federal HST 230 gr too.

Glock customer service is some of the best I have ever dealt with. My wife and I took a trip there and I brought my 2nd gen 19 which had a piece broken off the frame. I have no idea how it happened. Long story short, they replaced my frame with a gen 3 frame, replaced all of the other internals in slide, etc, installed Glock metal rear sight and tritium front sight, test fired and replaced all six of my magazines with new ones for a total cost of 43.00. I never expected that and will be a life long customer.

That's excellent to hear. Yeah, I know Blazer gets a bad rap here and there, but it's been nothing but decent ammo for me. As I said, it's also the most highly rated 45ACP on their site, too, so that's gotta stand for something. I'll probably purchase 100 rounds of Federal just for good measure. TargetSports USA is cool, you get free shipping on ammo, no matter the amount and 8% off for $99 bucks a year. Not even counting the 8%, if you're gonna buy a lot of ammo, just the shipping costs will be over $100 in a year pretty quickly, and I can order kinda a la carte, two boxes here, four boxes there, etc and the pricing does not change if you don't buy a case vs boxes with that 8% off all ammo. I like it, wish I had done it years ago.

Yeah, I honestly didn't expect Glock to offer to pay shipping, but at the end of the day it's a used gun. Now, maybe if the issue had been severe enough to really want them to see it right now, they might have offered. The tech seemed knowledgeable and understood exactly what I was talking about. He really said trying more ammo, replacing springs are probably gonna be the way to go. I ordered the new RSA, and will be replacing all mag springs just in case, to kind of eliminate the variables I can. Once those are eliminated, and factory ammo is used, if we're still having issues, he said to send it on in.

I have used federal Alum case too, no issues. As far as Blazer, I have used that stuff in 9, 40, 45 calibers for over 30 years and never 1 issue! Its great stuff, period!
As far as Target sports its good with the membership, but they are out of a lot of stuff most of the time, which in turn if I need ammo they dont have , I have to order elsewhere. So the membership doesnt help with that.
Now get some Flitz and a dremel and shine up that trigger bar and such!
