Mine like crap. Only bought it for GSSF matches. Had a feeding issue first few times out. At the first match had to see the armorer. Asked what ammo, cci mini mags he said excellent choice for this gun. Bad design on mags so I had to load it then turn it upside down and pull the spring back to let the ammo seat properly. After that no issues with feeding.
As for shooting as my dad use to say it can’t hit the broad side of the barn 😂. I sold a SR22 which shot great but this 44 I can’t seem to hit the target. No issues with the 47 45 19.

Have two. They're used by family and for pistol classes. They see thousands of rounds/year, and cycle fine.

First round misfeeds can be prevented by making sure the 1st round nose is not "submerged". G44 mags have little rake vs Colt Woodsman, Browning Nomad, Ruger Mk, Smith 41, etc. We found it helps to smack the spines on a bench after loading. Don't see gun/mag issues after the first round.

Ammo matters: CCI Blazer, MM, AR - all 40 gr. Ammo is the elephant.

Accuracy is what you'd expect from something near weightless. They work well for our Basic and SD courses.

If you think G44s tend to cycle poorly best not consider a double stack .22rf. I have yet to see one cycle through a full mag.

Works fine. Have three Glock magazines and 3 Promag 18 round magazines and all work great. I don't consider inverting the mag and jiggling to align the top round a problem nor defect. I shoot mostly Mini Mags and Norma TAC-22. I have however shot bulk Federal Automatch and a number of boxes of really, really old random stuff a friend gave me too with very rare issues. He had some old Winchester from Kmart that he thinks was 30+ years old. Shot fine though smokey as all heck!

Mine only shoots CCI mini mags, jams up on just about anything else. Anybody asks, I recommend a TX22.

I had some feeding issues when I first got mine. (Free with GSSF certificate.) But after reading the manual and loading magazines accordingly, it works great. In fact, it is probably the most reliable .22lr pistol I own though it does not especially like CCI standard velocity. No need for mini mags though. Literally any .22lr with a little more oomph than standard velocity works great. I feed it a steady diet of crap ammo and it works fine. Most Federal or Remington bulk stuff has a bit more pop than standard velocity.

As far as accuracy, mine shoots much better since I swapped the front sight for a Dawson Precision fiber front post.

It is kind of a dumb magazine design with that front post the nose of the top round can bury behind. I also wish Glock would offer a 12 round magazine. .22lr being what it is, things can get a little dicey in a GSSF indoor event involving a 10 shot string.

My G44 has about 20,000 rounds through it now. It's been trouble free other than the following

  • Early on, I had one carton of ammo that occasionally required a second strike to fire. The problem was isolated to that one carton.
  • I had 2 or 3 failure to feeds (hung going up ramp). This was while deliberately seeing how many rounds without cleaning it would take to hurt reliability. It took about 800 and by that time, the feed ramp was caked with fouling.
  • During that same experiment, I had 2 or 3 failure to extracts. There was a lot of carbon buildup under the extractor claw and the extractor was slipping right off of the rim.

Since then, I make sure to clean it by 600 rounds and I have had no problems.

I did have the issue of shots hitting several inches high at distances as short as 10 yards. I emailed Glock and after providing a little info, they sent a taller front site at no cost. Problem solved.

So, it shoots great! I shot 50 rounds with it yesterday. :D

I’ve changed to fibers on several guns, didn’t think I’d have to change them on the 44. I think I have another set laying around. Going out in the morning to mess with it but not sure if I’ll have time to change them before the LV match

I found the accuracy of mine improved quite a bit by switching out the stock Glock sights and replacing them with a Warren Tactical .215 tall fiber optic front sight and a Shooting Sports Innovations .225 rear sight which is made specifically for the Glock 44. Both are an easy install and is the combination my friend and I use.

I fooled with a couple different rears in combination with the Dawson Precision fiber front and ultimately went back to the factory adjustable sight. It works pretty well though I feel like I have to re-zero it every time out.

So I switched the sites out to ameriglo fiber range sites I had and they did make a nice difference.

The mag pictures are for anyone having feeding issues.

I had some older ammo laying around from before so loaded them up and what do you know. Several stove pipes with about 30 rounds. 100% recommend cci mini mag 40 GR

Mine is fine. It groups best with cci standard or aguila standard both 40 grn. Bottom 3 plates aguila standard 40grn. Top 2 36 grn federal. 10 rounds per plate 7 yards lower light quick fire 2x per second.
glock performance trigger shoe, 4lb striker spring, reduced power striker block, -connector, .25 cent polish, over travel screw in connetor housing.

Shot another 100 rounds of Aguila CPRN through it today. That's 687 rounds of Aguila since its last cleaning with zero malfunctions.

The ramp is getting nasty looking.
I keep a short rod and some soft .22lr swabs in my range bag. I don't necessarily need them for the 44 but have a couple other .22s they come in handy for. It's amazing how giving the chamber and feed ramp a quick swab and wipe enhances reliability in .22lr.
