Are you signed up to get emails from the Beretta website? They had a sale this weekend on magazines and had the eight and six rounders in stock. The eight rounders are sold out, but the six rounders are still available.
Yes, it's still available. I'll check for the extender before buying, because even eight is pushing the limits.

Beretta is still offering a $50 rebate for the A1 Carry, but out of what I've heard, they like to sit on the rebate request and/or turn it down without notifying the owner.

The biggest problem with the A1 Carry is that spare magazines haven't' been available for it for over a year (I've seen one on eBay offered for $200!).

The next biggest problem is that, according to knowledgeable sources, the gun is technically NOT an APX; its mechanism is different.

The third problematic issue is that there are way too many A1 Carry models, but the buyer is not informed about the differences; a major one is that the front sight cannot be replaced by the user, because it would require gunsmithing.

Finally, the finish on the A1 Carry has been reported to be such poor quality that simply holstering/unholstering the gun a few times, it starts wearing off, which Beretta considers "normal tear and wear," although I haven't seen a finish that bad in my life, and even small players like Hi-Point offer better warranty coverage. If you have a problem with a Beretta, you send it in, and if Beretta determines it's not covered under warranty (which is nearly always relative), you are liable to foot the total bill.

Why is Beretta selling a gun that it doesn't support even by selling extra magazines?
Okay, I like my Beretta: it shoots straights and does it reliably. It's nearly as good for my hands as a Taurus G2C, despite its lower capacity, being a bit larger, and the challenge to get a halfway-decent holster at a reasonable price.

I have one with over 1k rounds though it, and it’s been excellent. My rebate took the full 12 weeks to arrive and is performed via a third party company, so while technically not Beretta’s direct fault, it is Beretta’s fault for dealing with a poorly performing contractor and not following up with them. The complaints are not unusual and is hurting their reputation. The complaint about magazine availability is also legit and Beretta is again hurting themselves by not rectifying it quickly.

Other than that, the pistol itself isn’t bad. There is only one “A1 Carry”, so I’m not sure where the confusion about multiple models is on that.

The front sight is held in via setscrew and easily replaced by the user. Gunsmith is not necessary.

It’s a direct descendant of the Nano, with a lot of parts compatibility, but also some welcome and necessary improvements. They changed the styling to mimic the double stack APX and it also had a removable chassis like their big brother; overall construction is pretty similar, so it’s easy to see why they gave it the APX family name.

The finish on the pistol is no worse than any other mainstream pistol on the market. I’ve drawn and reholstered mine many times without visible wear.

These are my personal experiences.
Any idea the size of that set screw in the front sight? Mines loose.
