A new steel framed P320 X-Five is hitting the market. At 49.5oz, it’s a heavyweight. In fact, it’s a few ounces heavier than Sig’s P226 X-Five models.

I’m actually pretty intrigued by it. May have to check it out. I’m not a fan of the P320 as a polymer carry gun or duty gun, but I love my AXG Legion and may like this even more.

That looks pretty cool. If I planned to continue shooting CMP Action Pistol matches, I'd have to have one of those.

I'd be interested in hearing what SIG did to the trigger mechanism on these, considering the extra weight (about double the standard 320, I think?) has to change the drop-safe dynamics.

Beautiful pistol-though. Interesting to see all the new metal striker-fired guns coming out lately.

I have the 320 AXG Pro and the 320 X5 Legion so don’t really have a need for such a gun….not that it has ever stopped me before…but this one looks pretty cool. I really like the weight of the X5 Legion with the tungsten grip module, so a steel one would be pretty good in that department too.

And a good deal heavier too. Sig lists the SXG a full 6oz heavier than the X-Five Legion

With the DH3 being the price it is...I wonder if we're not looking at P226 X-Five levels. Maybe not
Eh

I don’t we’re getting there on a P320. The AXG Legion is the most expensive right now, at $13-$1400

I highly doubt we’re talking $2G’s for a P320, but who knows. This is the first steel model they offered.

My local shop has the P320 AXG Combat in stock and they are asking a bit over $1100 for it, to give you some idea of pricing on a custom works version. I’d say $1500 for this steel version….coups be wrong though.

I found the language added about how it doesn't have a manual safety, and what potential owners ought to consider regarding a manual safety, interesting. Seems their legal dept has been busy?

While a steel 9mm pistol weighing more than 50oz (loaded) would definitely provide a competitive edge, it would be interesting to see a shift back to all-steel, large framed pistols happen for service and defensive use.

While I have no longer have any need or interest in large, all-steel pistols, it might be interesting to see some aluminum models offered, including in compact versions.

I've long held the opinion that it was a mistake for the big names in gun making to be discontinuing all-metal pistols. Interesting that it was Walther seeming to be the most interested in leading the way back to metal, too. Now that S&W has followed with an all-metal M&P, and SIG offer this competition pistol, perhaps we'll see Heavy Metal return. :)

Have you seen this one? This one has my interest.

Huh? How so?
