Apparently I can break anything, even a glock.

Mag just fell out while shooting, this is why. Factory release, no mods, gun is 1 yr old and has about 4000 rds through it. Only problem it has ever given me.
That's temper embrittlement. Is this from a recent production gun?

That's a weird 2-D picture-- looks like that rod was flattened on the left, before the break. Very unusual. Go buy a Megamillions ticket.

I was trying to get a close up to show the crack. Sorry it looks weird. I was amazed I could get a picture at all, given how small it is.

Anyway, I think what you are talking about is an optical illusion. The degree of bend on each side of the crack is the same or real close to it. I think the spring was just brittle.

Yes it is relatively new production. I bought it new last spring.

I think it is kind of awesome that I broke a Glock. Everybody says leave them stock or they will malfunction, so I did. Now look!!!

Well, everybody has to be good at something. Now you know what your special talent is. And no, you may not borrow any of my guns. ;)

Might wanna let the mothership know. Might be problem that they're unaware of or it might just be a singular event.

That's exactly what my wife said, leave hers alone!!!

I have a talent for breaking stuff, for sure!

Easy fix, contact Glock they might send you one for free.
I had the slide lock lever shear off on a G45 a few years ago, totally surprised me when it didn’t lock back on empty.

Glock sent me a new one ASAP, no problem.

You should have a similar experience if you shoot them an email.

I was really surprised as well. Completely unexpected.

Will Roger's was right. Apparently, anything can happen today.

Yeah, the slide stop is just stamped sheet metal. Cracking seems to be more of an issue if you regularly use the slide stop as a slide release.

I’m a slingshotter myself, but also a thumbs high shooter.

I think I may have been resting my thumb just under the lever and while shooting, the slide sliced right through it since I had it slightly elevated.
