Apparently I can break anything, even a glock.
Mag just fell out while shooting, this is why. Factory release, no mods, gun is 1 yr old and has about 4000 rds through it. Only problem it has ever given me.

That's temper embrittlement. Is this from a recent production gun?View attachment 1300078

Yes it is relatively new production. I bought it new last spring. That's temper embrittlement. Is this from a recent production gun?
I was trying to get a close up to show the crack. Sorry it looks weird. I was amazed I could get a picture at all, given how small it is.That's a weird 2-D picture-- looks like that rod was flattened on the left, before the break. Very unusual. Go buy a Megamillions ticket.

I think it is kind of awesome that I broke a Glock. Everybody says leave them stock or they will malfunction, so I did. Now look!!!![]()
That's exactly what my wife said, leave hers alone!!!Well, everybody has to be good at something. Now you know what your special talent is. And no, you may not borrow any of my guns.
Might wanna let the mothership know. Might be problem that they're unaware of or it might just be a singular event.
I had the slide lock lever shear off on a G45 a few years ago, totally surprised me when it didn’t lock back on empty.Easy fix, contact Glock they might send you one for free.
New parts are inbound from the glockstore. I'll try hard not to break them. What looks to be two cracks in ~4K, it was brittle from a bad temper or inclusion as the cracks are where it bends and flexes. Just replace it with a new one ($3 part) and carry on.
I was really surprised as well. Completely unexpected.I had the slide lock lever shear off on a G45 a few years ago, totally surprised me when it didn’t lock back on empty.
Glock sent me a new one ASAP, no problem.
You should have a similar experience if you shoot them an email.
Carefully.Bad news if it ever breaks at the point of entry that holds it in the frame.
Now how would you get that out?!?
Yeah, the slide stop is just stamped sheet metal. Cracking seems to be more of an issue if you regularly use the slide stop as a slide release.I had the slide lock lever shear off on a G45 a few years ago, totally surprised me when it didn’t lock back on empty.
I’m a slingshotter myself, but also a thumbs high shooter.Yeah, the slide stop is just stamped sheet metal. Cracking seems to be more of an issue if you regularly use the slide stop as a slide release.
