Hey Guys

I’ve always been a fan of the ghost connector. It is a cheap upgrade and like how it gives me a reduced trigger pull. Been seeing posts of the performance trigger. Is this a better upgrade? Or, will I not see much of a difference compared to a ghost connector. Understand the trigger is a bit different

I think a big difference with the Glock Performance Trigger is the following from
Glock's "Perfomance Trigger" | Page 4 | Glock Talk Post #71 by TexasPOff:

This trigger system, uses a separate trigger bar and sear. When you cycle the slide, the sear catches the striker at its most rearward point, IE fully cocked. Pulling the trigger only moves the trigger bar rearward until it runs along the sear, and then the connector forces the trigger bar down which in turns forces the sear down. releasing the striker. It turns the glock into a single action only, the same as the 320, M&P, PPQ, XD, etc etc.

I can't state it any better and I agree with the description. (y)

So the Ghost connectors do not change the mechanical basis of the ORIGINAL GLOCK trigger (fire control) whereas the GPT does.

A CONNECTOR DOES NOT FULLY COCK THE FIRING PIN, WHCIH IS WHAT THE GPT DOES. A world of difference. So you really can't compare the 2 systems. But you can get close as far as feel, as I said in my earlier post.

Difference is night and day. Connectors don’t really do much alone IMO. The Glock Peformance Trigger is a great upgrade. Reduces trigger pull weight and smooths it out with a nice short reset.
Reset is longer w/ GPT, compared to stock trigger. Unless you remove the overtravel with an aftermarket connector, trigger shoe, or some other means.

The difference between a Minus connector and a Standard version isn’t much. Replace all with the GPT and don’t look back. Very much a huge improvement. Almost brings a Glock to the level of so many other striker fired pistols that have much better triggers right out of the box.

I just finished reading an article on both in Firearms News April 2024 edition by James Tarr. Summarize the article the author said the performance trigger needs to be oiled and that it adds parts and it not for a carry gun. He knows of pro shooters who have experienced reset failures after one thousand rounds. The Ghost connector will bring your Gen 5 trigger pull down from 5.8 lbs to 5lbs. The title of the article is " Glock Gen 5 Upgrades" I would go with the Ghost.

So true. The only thing better than the GPT is a GPT with a Ranger Proof or JG Vex trigger shoe.

I have been running this set up for a month or so now with over 2k rounds through it. I haven't lubed or cleaned it since the VEX replacement on the GPT and I have had zero issues or performance degradation.
