Except that's wrong; the only thing not as nice was the finish. Also the Stoegers have rails.
That might be a somewhat “newer” development. My Stoeger Cougar 40 did not.

Uh no, it’s not wrong.

The Stoegers had more wrong with them than just the finish. Not all of them, but the quality control was not up to Beretta’s standard
I do remember hearing/reading about some issues with the Cougars. Luckily I never experienced that with mine.

Right. People have 140k+ rounds through their .45 PX4s (https://pistol-forum.com/showthread...read.php?29478-Beretta-PX4-Storm-45-High-round-count-long-duration-usage/page57) but run away because one guy had an early one with a problem (you're not wrong, there was a problem with the very first ones; but citing it now is pointless).
Don't run away. I'm sure their fine now. Has Beretta's customer service improved as well? Thanks for the update, it's nice to hear updated info from fellow posters. Well maybe both a px4 and a 96 are in my future.

Yeah the Stoegers in general were subpar to the Berettas. I wouldn’t touch one.
Generally speaking I've heard more favorable things than not when it comes to Stoeger. But like anything there will be some who got lemons. I've had mostly good experiences with Taurus. But the few bad experiences were enough to give me a jaundiced eye towards them. That said I still want to pick up their new 3" 327 TORO model 856.
