Sun has long set on .357 Sig. It never lived up to the hype, and then withered away. I can't see it ever rebounding, and consider it to be a dead end.

I personally never cared for it.

On a side note, instead of selling it, consider converting it to .40 S&W with just a barrel swap.

It's a wave to be expected. Many talk crap about the 357sig but it will remain.
You have to make your own decision to purchase the modei and make of your choice. I enjoy knowing the 3 options I have by owning a G31 it can easily be converted to a G22 or even a G17 with the G17 barrel and magazines

I actually own a G35 and the barrel fits/shoots in the G31. Also .357 and .40 mags are In reciprocity.

Even if it dies off the store shelf reloaders will keep 357 Sig alive in some dark corner; as long as I'm still alive at least and I know other reloaders who appreciate it. I can get a bit of stank out of that little cartridge where as most factory loadings just fall short and aren't worth their snot. Whether or not you reload though it would totally be worth keeping and dropping in a .40 S&W barrel imo.

I have three barrels for my G32; the OEM .357 Sig, and a conversion barrel in .40 S&W and another in 9mm. I already had G19 mags to use in my G26, so the conversion cost was minimal. Ammoseek.com currently shows 5 pages of factory .357 Sig ammo available, and nearly all of the brass vendors have fired brass in stock. I'm betting that I'll be able to find ammo and/or components for at least one of the three cartridges that the gun can use.

If you want a gun that it's HARD to find ammo or brass for, buy a Ruger in .480 Ruger. Brass is made from unobtanium, and the one box of factory ammo that I saw online yesterday was running $8.75 a shot!

This

The great thing about the G31 is that it can easily be a G17 or G22. Versatility is a significant plus.

Huge market? No, quite the opposite really. Dying? Well, it's not at all popular and ammo is pricey, so sure. Dead? No. Personally, if I had to guess, Gen4 was likely it for .357 SIG Glonks.

Glock may surprise us, but I'd say your guess is pretty solid right now.

Although it would be interesting if they did do it in Gen 5. Sig dropped the caliber that bears their name so it would be odd/funny/interesting to see Glock keeping it alive.

It's not going to totally die, but it's not coming back. If you reload, you have more choices than if you rely on factory ammo. If you don't reload, get a conversion barrel for it, stash the .357Sig barrel and ammo and carry on.

I reload and the .357Sig is a caliber I got out of since the benefits don't outweigh the cons.

What hype was that? Being superior to 9 mm ….it does that exceedingly well.

Like the .38 Super, .357 Sig will soldier on. It’s not for everyone, but the ballistics are ideal for persons who want an edge. It is stronger out of the G31 than most 9mm PCCs with quality ammo. Great cartridge.

Consider that even SIG doesn't make any pistols in .357 SIG any more.

It won't completely die in our lifetimes, but it'll wind up like the .41 Magnum: irrelevant to anyone but the diehard enthusiast.

Do with that what you will.
