I have had two Sig M11s and a MK25. I still prefer the 92 platform more, personally. I have no more Sigs. They are good guns, I just prefer the Berettas.

I have back and muscle problems, along with some nerve issues. I've moved mostly to polymer handguns. You wouldn't believe the health problems I have. I look for lighter handguns now.

Yeah, I'm enjoying dry firing it, so far. Range tomorrow, if all goes well.

M11-A1 stock trigger pack beats the 92FS into the floor (before D spring and trigger spring), and puts the stock P-01 to shame. The only way I enjoyed shooting a P-01 was when I did a spring kit for its trigger pack. Then, it had a nice trigger.

Never thought I'd like a hammer Sig, but this thing is excellent. I've been on a quest to find a DA/SA gun, and I think this may be it. It's not unnecessarily huge like the 92FS was, and the P-01 is great, but again, even it is still bulky. The fact that the M11 (and most of these hammer Sigs are) is decocker only is too cool.

Are you just saying the P-01 is bulky, or that it's bulky compared to the 229/M11? If you say so I believe you, numbers can be deceiving... but it sure doesn't look that way.

I'm going on the assumption that the M11 and P229 Compact are the same size, I don't know that to be the case though.

Th P-01 definitely is a bit slimmer and smaller, but not by much. One reason, in my mind, is that beaver tail on the P-01 and other hammer CZ will absolutely make you never lean over to your side again when carrying it OWB. That pointy beaver tail is fun to jab into your ribs. The Sig P series have the perfect back strap/beaver tail setup, IMO.

Additionally, as much as I like HGH, I've noticed some of their specs are not entirely accurate. It doesn't have the correct weight for the M&P 2.0 Compact 4 inch. It says it's about 2.5 oz heavier than it is, IIRC.

The P229 is probably a bit heavier than the M11, due to the rail, but not by much. Also, the P series aren't really that thick. I mean, they are, at their widest point, just like any other gun. Their slides and frames (without the bulging grips and decocker/slide stop) are actually kinda thin.

Either way the P-01 is a solid choice. I just had to do spring kits on any hammer fired CZ I've ever owned. Their OEM trigger pack/spring kit is just horrid.

I put Mcarbo kits in all the hammer fired CZs I own(ed). It's worth it to get their enhanced hardened pins, with the spring kit. Beware, the sear cage on the decocker models is a BEAR To do. If you have little to no experience working on handguns, I would recommend having it installed professionally. Cajun Gun Works does the same stuff, and I believe you can send it into either Mcarbo or CGW. I do my own stuff, so even though it was a headache, I enjoyed doing it, too. I've done 4 of them over the years. It's an experience.

I just bought a Sig P227 SAS Carry. It's my first Sig handgun with the exception of what I was issued back in the day.

I have a P01 Omega. It's a pretty nice gun and I carried it for a while. It shoots good and carries well. It is now a safe queen...

I really liked the one or two P227s I’ve handled. I just wish Sig would’ve seen fit to make a steel-framed variant in 10mm AUTO.

Figure with a similarly configured magazine in Best Meter, you’d have a 12- or 13+1 load out. The higher capacity over an 8+1 10mm P220 would justify the additional weight of a steel 227 frame.

I love my two-tone DA/SA Match Elite but at over 50oz its roles are limited to being a range toy and handload tester. Great trigger and very accurate but for EDC I have other choices among my 10mm pistols.
