Third Watch was one of my favorite cop shows. The had actual cops/firefighters in the cast and as technical advisors

Molly Price even married one of the firefighters but they still got a lot of gun things wrong. Probably a bunch of cop things too.

I looked at the current prices of cuffs at GT Distributors, here in Texas, and they still look about the same. I’ve never been a fan of S&W, but that’s what my current agency issues. However, I still purchased a pair of Peerless a couple of years ago to use as my go-to’s. I later went to retrieve them at our jail after having another offIcer transport for me, and the jailer handed me what he said were mine. They were an off brand, and since he was too busy and under a lot of stress, I didn’t push the issue. They still work.

Peerless and Hiatt(Safariland)have always my cuffs of choice.

Knowing almost nothing about the Handcuffs G4S issued me, I can assure you they were the cheapest they could find. Maybe even made by the people who make S&W knives.

As stated previously, the only reason I carried them at all was because I was required to. I can't even conceive a circumstance under which I would have ever put them on someone.

I bought this low speed, high drag u Universal Handcuff Key at Gall's though. I have no idea why I still have it.

I’ve been retired for three and a half years now and I still have cuff keys laying around. One is still on my key ring. Habit, I guess.

I'm going to assume you had an actual use for handcuffs, I didn't.

I would be willing to do bet the only reason that I even had handcuffs is because the city told G4S to issue all the guards handcuffs.

$30-$40 is about average for cuffs. I do have a pair of ultra lightweight Peerless cuffs I got from a police supply store across the road from the academy I went to those ram like $70. Those live in in my POV in case I ever need them, I carry the standard pairs of cuffs at work.

They got a lot wrong on the show . Like Bosco was often right but they made him look like an idiot .

Handcuffs . I had different types . I had the lightweight aluminum by American handcuff company . It was NIJ certified but the company went out of business. Smith was the most popular because it was cheaper and better quality than most . I liked the hinged handcuffs . Easier to quick cuff someone.
The cost could be around 50 dollars or more for some back in the early to mid 2000s

I think it would be more correct to say that Bosco was an idiot who was often right.

I think the only human being on Earth he actually respected was Yokas.
He was a writer’s device . By having the stupid or mean person say it, it takes away the credibility of the idea they present .

watch this and just change the actors . It would switch how the argument perceived. I would love to see this as Obama v Trump in an economic debate

I have so many handcuffs, with my name and badge number engraved. I know the ones that say SGT are newer. No one is gonna walk out of the jail with a Sergeants pair of cuffs.

I have original, extras, And a pair of black peerless. I thought they looked cool. They got named my Felony Flyer cuffs because the day after I bought them, the next arrest was a Robbery suspect.

My favorites of all time were stainless S&W. Old style and new. Because if I arrested somebody nasty, or bleeding, I’d throw them in the sink in the jail. Dump Clorox over them and rinse the with hot water from the coffee machine. A shot of WD-40…good to go.

The Smith. Hyatt and Peerless lightweights were spares. Cargo pocket.

$20-30 a pair.
