Do you feel better about yourself now after posting this??

There are 8 pages of people saying the same thing on this issue

I got the message from the end of page 2...thanks for your helpful advice and wisdom
Ya, it made me chuckle a bit.

Thanks, Brother!! It does get annoying when people throw their little digs and insults, but we all know these types in life don't we ;)
Is this your first time on a forum? The whole point IS commentary.

It's all good my friend, but when a person writes something nasty with nothing else to add to the discussion and uses words like "stupid", etc it's not a good look for you

Ok fellas so Glock answered my email just now and attached a repair form for me to send in either the whole gun or just the slide.

He said that these cracks occur when an "over pressure" round is fired...I don't know if I buy that but they are making good by their product

That said, I did find and purchase a Nelson aluminum slide that I found online, so I won't have to wonder when the next "over pressure" round comes around 😉

As you can see in the picture, my Slide has a hairline crack in the polymer slide from the rear of the extractor. I only have a few hundred rounds in it and it is shooting fine

The sight of the crack doesn't bother me as long as it doesn't affect the function and safety of the gun, so I am wondering if this is something that happens to these guns and their cheap looking frames or do I need to send it to Glock

Whatdaya think?

Send it in . Tho you should not have to . So you did not drop it or any other trauma ?

10 pages of hand wringing, hot air, and group drama that could have been avoided by a phone call (or even worse in this case- an email) in the first place.
So why did you read it and post a response?? I don't think that anyone here twisted your arm.

It's probably smarter to just keep dumb posts to yourself

Looks to me like the stress from the site installation tool caused it.. you can see the dark impression marks it left along the side of the slide.. so let's not blame the 'cheap polymer construction' just yet..

Yeah if it wasn’t broken by use but by abuse (improper installation equipment) then is this Glock’s fault?

Well, not the Rugers and TX22 of course. Stuff like the Beretta M9 .22, that's Umarex, and several of those Colt "Walther" .22 rifles are actually Umarex. You'd be suprised. I believe they also make the Walther PPQ 22 for Walther, but could be wrong on that one.

Odd as it may seem Walther is owned by Umarex...so yeah Walther .22s are made by Umarex

The WHOLE Walther is owned by them? I thought it was just like a division that Umarex bought from them, and still used the name. No kidding.

From Umarex's site......

Umarex USA, Inc. began with the Umarex Group’s acquisition of RUAG Ammotec USA (Dynamit Nobel), North American marketers of the famous RWS brand of premium adult airguns. Later named Umarex USA and combined with the world class products from German based Umarex, the parent company of Walther Firearms, Umarex USA has quickly become one of the premier providers of airguns and airgun accessories to North America.

About us | Umarex USA

And from Wikipedia....

In 1993 the Carl Walther GmbH firm was acquired by Umarex, who continued to manufacture under the Walther name in Ulm and Arnsberg.

I remember hearing about it when I had a P22.

There's a lot of issues out there with .22lr ammo. I've seen a lot of overpressure rounds and squibs. If you've ever seen it made at a factory you definitely understand how it happens. Whatever ammo you have that produced that crack you should stop using it. Good chance there's more in that lot.

Have you ever seen a hot load damage a gun?
