Hey Guys,
I am thinking about picking up one of these Ruger PC carbines in 9mm. These things are on the market for a while now. Options are sure multiplying and every few months there is a new one available. Are they actual improvement over the basic version of this platform? If so, which is everyone’s favourite? Thanks!

It kind of depends how you want to set it up. The nice thing is with a basic stock and forearm configuration it is pretty unassuming. Or you can go whole hog and set up like an AR.

I was looking at the Ruger PC carbine, but hoping for one in 300 Black?
Is there any caliber other than 9 Luger yet?

40 cal. The 300 black out wouldn't fit in the action. You would need a mini 14 action.

9mm is about the limit for a blowback. 😎. There are several locked breech 300BO firearms.

Hold out for a Henry

I picked up the Ruger 9mm M-LOK version just over a year ago. Built like a tank; heavier than some AR's. Great modularity for adding an optic, vertical grip, light, etc. Replaced the Ruger magwell with one for Glock doublestack mags. Have run over 50 types of ammo through it....FMJ, JHP, copper, polymer, etc. Standard pressure and +P but no +P+. Groups as well as you would expect out to 50 yards. Bolt is overbuilt IMO and therein reveals an issue I've experienced. This component was already heavy but buried deep inside is a huge chunk of tungsten. After 800-900 rounds started to get ejection issues, double feeds...stovepipes, etc. Did some research and turns out the recoil spring might be a bit underpowered. Replaced it with a Tandemkross "red spring" that is 20% stronger than the OEM and so far that seems to have solved the issue. Breakdown to get that accomplished is not necessarily a task for someone new to firearms unless they are mechanically inclined. I could have broken down and cleaned several AR's in the time it required to fully breakdown, clean, and replace the recoil spring. Otherwise it has been a positive experience.

.40 and .45 options in blowback - I don’t think I’ve seen a straight blowback any “larger” except for the 10mm High Point. (The MP5-10 is roller delayed).

I have a bunch of 9mm PCCs in a variety of flavors. If the Ruger appeals to you and your use, it's a great choice.

I'm hoping they (Ruger made Marlin) bring back the Camp45 with 1911 mags.

Is that because it's parent is the 10/22?
The size of the action and receiver limit it to pistol size cartridges. With rifle rounds the pressure would be too great for the bolt action plus they wouldn't fit in the action.
