I was curious if it stood for Police Department. Or does that signify something else, or perhaps nothing at all? Thanks.

So that seems to lend support for the idea that my prefixes and suffixes designate a police department, too.I have a Glock 22, Gen 3 New Orleans PD marked
serial number is NO…PD.
That would be cool. Only way to know for sure is to contact him and ask him.PD marked guns do show up on the trade-in market.
Purchased a 22.3 from Kiesler Police Supply.
What I received was RCX357SD.
Richland County Sheriff's Department.
Pretty cool for a Live PD fan.
Maybe Senior Deputy Garo Brown used it?

You could contact the training section, tell them you bought one of their old guns and see if they would research who it was last issued to and ask that Deputy to contact you. They probably won't but nothing ventured, nothing gained. That would be cool. Only way to know for sure is to contact him and ask him.
Must have been Wile E. Coyote’s gunMentioned this before but my Gen 4 Glock 17 has the serial number prefix "ACME". Was actually on the fence about buying it, until I saw the label on the side of the box.
