Any good shops you know of that will make an optic cut and use machine paint on the exposed metal rather then refinish the whole slide? Thanks

Maybe, but a shop will prep it better and have better paint. You can do it yourself before putting the optic on.
Shhhhhhh...don't let that be common knowledge.
Thank you!If you don’t want to spend a ton of money, send it off to Wager Machine Works. They will mill the slide and apply blueing to the cut area. $85 total cost and super quick turnaround.

Trijicon RMR Footprint Optic Cut (Also Fits Trijicon SRO & Holosun 407c/507c/508t) for Glock - Wager Machine Works
This is a service to cut your factory Glock slide for a RMR pattern optic (aftermarket slides cut with prior approval). The cut will be .125" deep. The frontwagermachineworks.com
They did both my slides. I didnt have them do the coating but the cuts were good. No complaints so far.I spent around $175 at another shop for the cut, nitride refinish, and new sights. Should be getting it back soon. DP Custom Works.
Not necessarily. I can prep and paint just as well, and choose what finish to use. If you are going for looks, then have at it. For function (protection of the milled area), I can do it myself.Maybe, but a shop will prep it better and have better paint.
Refinish for a 19x is probably more tricky. That’s not a bad price at all. Especially for quality work. Got any pics to share?Nameless arms is doing my 19x. He will do a pro cut like ATEI and cerakote only the pocket leaving the OEM finish on the rest of the slide. This was very important to me with the 19x. The only other place that will cerakote the pocket is ATEI.
Nathan at nameless arms charges $130 for the cut and cerakote. There are examples of his work on other forums as well. His customer service has been great so far.
These aren’t my pictures but were posted by members on another forum of the work done by Nameless Arms. He gets the pocket so perfect that the optic can stay in without screws. He is held in high regard in other forums. I’m not sure if I can post names of other forums here though.Refinish for a 19x is probably more tricky. That’s not a bad price at all. Web search just went to a domain page, & the fb turned up 2 different ones, & didn't see a Gavin. Was thinking about getting a Holosun since the Trijicon dot are so high. Also, if you need an optic, coverttactical.com has the best prices around. Send the guy an email or message him on Facebook and he will give you a coupon code to discount the price. His name is Gavin. I was a bit skeptical at first, but he is legit and his service was perfectly acceptable. Picked up a new Holosun 507C x2 for $260 shipped. No tax
