a 43X/48 mag doesn't work in a 43, what mag are you planning to use, I don't think a 43 mag work in a bobbed 48, I'd be sure it does before I broke out the Dremel.

Guys, a bob cut is an angle cut at the end of the slide in the inferior part. I can’t post a photo but hope this description helps.
What in the heck are y'all talking about. The inferior end of the slide? What???
This is a bobcut. Why anyone would want to do this to a Glock is beyond me.

O.K., we all had a different definition (older) of "bob cut", having the grip frame cut, I think this is what is meant by bob cut now

an angled cut at the front, lower, hollow section of a longer slide that uses a shorter RSA.

Oh! THAT “Bob-cut”…

hacksaw
Nail file
Sharpie

Just try not to crush the front sight in the vise and go slow. Don’t want to mess it up.

😬

(sorry, couldn’t resist. Looks pretty simple for a competent gunsmith to do, have you looked around locally?)

What exactly is the purpose of that? So that it looks more tac-ti-cool? Why not just get a G43X? Or do you really think that an extra 1/2 inch of barrel really gives you more velocity? An INCH of barrel might make a difference of 50 fps. but a half inch might only make a difference of 25 fps and the difference from one same length barrel to another that came off the same assembly line on the same day can have more of a difference than that.

And "Sight Radius" is an equally insignificant difference considering how many people shoot a G26 better than a G19 or G17 or shoot a G19 better than a G17.

G48 barrel length: 106 mm | 4.17 inch G43x barrel length: 86.5 mm | 3.41 inch = About 5/8ths of an inch difference. Whoop-de-doo! --In my opinion, not worth the trade-off for a less concealable gun and all the extra work of modifying the longer slide unless your top priority is making your toy look "More Cool"

Apparently I'm one of the few that sight radius matters. I shoot my G19 better than any G26 I've ever owned, even with extended magazines to get a full grip. I have a G43 and can shoot that well, but my G48 I shoot much better. I don't know if it's because of the grip difference between the G48 vs G43.

For me, it was a no brainer since I already have a G43, I got the G48 and can swap the top ends to make a G43X or G48L (long slide) if I want.

Other than losing a little weight, what would be the purpose of something like that?
