My holy grail rifle has arrived. Took it out and shot 300 rounds of mixed green tip and a few boxes of 77 grain OTM 5.56 Black Hills.

Basic Specifications:

S2W profile (tapered heavy CHF CL)
18 inch barrel
Rifle length gas system
Geissele S3G flat face trigger
DD muzzle brake ‘Muzzle Climb Mitigator’
15 inch MFR rail system

SPR/DMR accurate. The DD S2W ‘strength to weight ratio’ heavy barrel profile is something truly special for a CHF CL setup. Routinely gets .25 to .5 inch five shot groups @ 100m using Black Hills 77 grain SMK. I’m no longer interested in stainless barrels because of it. I had a couple 5 shot groups in the .27 and .31 range. I don’t think a stainless Douglass or Compass Lake barrel can do much better. Perhaps with hand loads.

The S2W is considerably heavy under the hand guard area and tapers to .750 beyond the pinned gas block.

The barrel is absolutely lights out accurate. Sub-MOA all day long with 77gr OTM. You can put long strings of fire through this rifle without it opening up. The rifle length gas system makes an exceptionally soft and flat shooting gun. Despite the S2W heavy barrel, the M4V7 Pro is very balanced at 7.4 lbs empty. A reasonable weight considering the capability.

Some extras: Lower has ambi controls, flared magwell, ambi gas busting charging handle, QD sling mount end plate and multiple QD sling attachments on the DD rail system. A highly remarkable rifle overall especially the attention to detail in how this rifle was assembled. The quality of the Daniel Defense AR cannot be overstated. It’s worth the price of admission.

The Geissele S3G ‘Super 3 Gun Trigger’ takes some getting used to, in a good way. Like driving a high end sports car for the first time. I can break 600 rpm in rapid semi fire with the S3G trigger. The reset is unfathomable, the trigger breaks at 3 lbs +/- and can be feathered for very fast shot times or surprisingly precise work out to extended range despite the competition oriented design of the S3G. I’ve come to prefer it over the SSA-E.

For distance shooting, you have to be more careful on the press. There’s no real take up. The trigger works almost like a high end 1911 single action. Single stage design with a light break.

Bonus. The DD M4V7 Pro has negative recoil. Rifle length gas + S2W barrel + DD muzzle brake = one ultra smooth 5.56 weapon. Operator Ninja Approved.

I just bought this new optic for my DD M4V7 Pro. Vortex HD Gen III 1-10x. This optic is really nice, my first foray into the LPVO life. Great eye relief, eye box, glass clarity. The reticle has so much information to it that I’m going to have to watch some instructional videos to get a hold on this thing,

Next up, need to find a solid QD mount + rings for my new optic + rifle combo. This is becoming a very expensive hobby AKA how to drop $4,000 + on a single rifle + accessories in two days!

Capable rifle….do away with the muzzle comp….they do nothing but increase noise.

Comps are nothing but play toys for gamer boys….
I hear ya. I usually install flash hiders on my rifles but truth be told, I really appreciate how the brake helps keeps my magnified optic reticle from bouncing around during firing. Helps me keep the rifle as level as possible for the next shot.

It’s your gun. Set it up any which way you like.

I’ve found that the bullets from my guns equipped with flash suppressors hit the targets just like the ones fired from my guns equipped with muzzle brakes.

If I were a Delta commando ready to raid North Korea, I might worry about flash suppressor versus muzzle brakes. However since I’m not a commando, it doesn’t mean squat.
