Hey all.

I’ve been curious about these Mossberg compact 9mm since handling the smaller one about 6 months ago. I think these 2 from Mossberg are similar to the Glock 43 and 48, I guess. The Mossberg pistols weigh about 20 ounces.

I don’t see much written about either. I’ve watched several videos on them and they are pretty much favorable to them. Does anyone own and carry either of these? I’d like to read your opinions and thoughts on these whether you own them or not.
It looks like they have a street price of about $350. That’s not bad at all, I think. That would put them a bit more pricey than the Taurus compact 9mm carry pistols.

What’s your opinions on these Mossberg CCW pistols? Would you carry one? Why or why not?

Thanks all

Too little too late. People want more capacity.

I have not yet seen an MC2sc at any of my local gun stores and even the older MC1sc and MC2c don't appear very often. The prices I've seen are closer to $425 than $350.
I do like what Mossberg has done. With the MC2sc, they've taken the basic design of the Glock 43 and made several improvements (regarding which I am sure opinions will differ):
Better trigger
Better grip texture
More capacity (11+1 versus 6+1)
A slide cut for optics
A P365-compatible accessory rail on the dust cover

The cross-bolt manual safety doesn't appeal to me but that's optional.

The one area where Mossberg is way behind Glock is in the availability of accessories. Holster options are very limited (unless the MC2sc fits 43X MOS holsters, which is possible) and spare magazines are almost impossible to find.

I thought the weakest part of the MC1sc design was the plastic magazines and Mossberg has gone to metal mags for the MC2sc.

The Mossy MC1sc is a 6/7 rd pistol I shot it and the MC2c which is 13/15 rd gun at the range they put into rental. For a sub $500 guns they performed quite well. The MC2c was better for me only because most SC guns are too small for my hands.
I can’t speak to the reliability of the the two pistols since I only put a box of ammo through each.
Maybe I am just a lucky guy in that I have never had any of my stock Glock or H&K guns malfunction. The only times I have seen people have issues with Glocks or H&K guns is when they have modified or tinkered on them.
The Mossy guns are pretty simple so I don’t see a lot going wrong with them if they are left in the stock configuration.
I liked the flat trigger face and the thinner grip. The texture was right too. If I was going to buy on it would be the larger one. I think women and guys with smaller hands might like the MC1.
Accuracy was ok but not what I am used to with more rounds down range with Glocks and H&K guns. If it weren’t for this ammo drought I would have shot it more.

I would probably never give them a second glace, Mossberg making pistols seems strange, much like Remington making pistols. Similar concept would be if CVA, the muzzle loader people, made a pistol. Odd. Kinda like if Glock or SIg started coming out with bolt rifles and pump shotguns. Odd ****.

Shot the MC2sc last week and the flush 11+1 mag leaves the pinky hanging but the 14+1 gives me a full grip. Feels good with decent recoil management and shoots a little better than my Glocks. Just like SIG it has a proprietary light rail. I was impressed with the takedown process.

People may not look to Mossberg for pistols, but the first gun ever produced by Mossberg when they got started in 1919 was a pistol. The MC1SC I have has been just as reliable as any other small 9mm I have.

I've shot and own a MC1sc and MC2c. If I could ever find a MC2sc I would own one also.

Both of mine have the upgraded sights and neither have the cross bolt safety. I would agree with those saying they are Glock clones. There are some obvious differences but you can tell they were looking at the G43, G48 and now G43x as examples.

I haven't had any issues with either. I did rent a Mc1sc and my wife stove piped it twice but she limp wristed it. I had no issues that evening with it. I now carry the MC2c as my EC and "retired" my G48. The MC1sc is now my emergency jeep gun that I keep in my vehicle for easier access if my belt is on.

I am in the market for a "backup" gun to wear on my ankle when I do security at church. I was looking hard at the Springfield Hellcat (and I may still get one) but since we are trying to keep what we collective use as a security team as close as possible, I will likely go with the MC2sc.

Now I own a few newer Taurus (2, 2c, 3, 3c - BIL sold me) and six Glocks (with more on the way) so Im not a particular gun manufacturing fanboy. Im about to pull the trigger on a Sar9 and Canik in the next few weeks. Still I really like the Mossberg hand guns. Easy to use, very accurate and have held up well for me.

Hope that helps.
