What is the date code on your sights? It’s not unusual for the sights to be older than the gun. Also, I once bought a Glock with factory night sights, the front was a year older than the rear.
The front sight just has AR1 on the side and what looks like a tiny Glock logo on top.

Truglos are pretty awesome. Check 'em out.

I have a TruGlo set up on my G42 but Night Fusion's on other pistols and I like them. 30% more Tritium.

AR indicates 2018. The rear should have a date code as well.
AR1 on the side and MH3 and 6.1 in the lower cut out middle area on top.

I don’t think they should be starting to dim yet. You might call Glock, maybe they will let you send the sights only and determine if they need to be replaced.
I just sent an email to the warranty, customer service and tech email addresses. No reply in a couple of days, I'll call.

This is the ideal for Glock sights in my opinion...

I own both, and in my opinion the thinner front blade with square paint shows up better than the standard (wider) circle paint and obscures the target less.

I prefer Ameriglo's i-Dot configuration, but they don't have serrations. As such, if I can get them, I prefer a three-dot with serrations (but I'll always take an i-Dot over a three-dot without serrations).

ps... always double check with Ameriglo before assembling sights

I'm not surprised Glock night sights aren't as good as aftermarket sights. Look at the plastic junk sights that come on Glocks. Though Glock NS only adds $50 to the price. You get what you pay for.
Glock doesn’t make night sights…they are either meprolights or ameriglo. And either way, tritium vials are all manufactured from the same place…

My 3-4 year old G26 Gen 5 factory night sights have dimmed down to maybe 50%. I thought night sights were good for say 10 years. Well, it looks like another set of Night Fusions very soon.
My 4 1/2 year old G17 Gen 3 factory night sights are 95% bright. So I guess YMMV

That's rad. Thanks @strabler ! I just bought a Glock, I wonder if there's a way to get the coupon just with a purchase, not from their site.
They should email you the coupon as soon as you register your new Glock, but the coupon is only for their web site. On the plus side it is for one whole order, not just one item, so you can grab some other stuff (even multiple sets of night sights) with the discount.

Called Glock this morning. I was told to send the slide to them and they will determine if the night sights have to be replaced. I bought the G26 on 5/20. IMO, the sights shouldn't have dimmed at all in the less than 3 years amount of time I've owned it even though it was built sometime in 2018.
I've boxed the slide and it's going out today and will get to Glock Weds. $13 shipped from SC to GA.
I'll let all of you know what happens.

We anticipate most CC situations where there is light but a power outage, movie theater or dark bedroom are all places where bright night sights can't hurt.
I love the Ameriglo sights on my G19 and think they are great for low light scenarios but I would want a flashlight at the very least in a theater or totally dark home so I know who I am shooting.

Initially, I was against needing night sights for this reason. Then, I finally tried them out. They're really cool, and they can help in a failing/low light scenario. However, I'm back to them basically being a cool novelty, and my serious HD guns have TLR-7As on them. You do not fire upon a target you didn't PID; it's gonna be a rough legal road ahead, and god help you if you shot the wrong person without that light/PID. I don't intend to start that whole argument, but just agreeing with your stance. I do have night sights on virtually every handgun I have. They're cool, and with Glocks.... They're better for me than OEM sights.

To each their own.

The half lie of tritium is about 12 years, meaning the night sights lose 50% of their luminosity over that time period.

Correct, tritium has a half-life of 12.3 years, so theoretically, in that time, they will be half again as bright. You can have sights that are still visible after 20 years even, they will just be proportionately that much dimmer. Tritium is a by product of Nuclear reactors and in some cases, dismantled nuclear weapons. In the early 2000’s there was some difficulty obtaining tritium due to the shut down of some reactors. So some sights made in the 2000‘s may have already been decaying when they were used to manufacture new weapons sights. That’s why some sights may be dimmer at 12 years than expected.

Agreed regarding HD. On my G21 Gen 4 that is for HD, I have a Streamlight TLR-1. For EDC, I find a flashlight too bulky. The only EDC application I would anticipate in a movie theater is an active shooter so...
