Our chief read an article and made it mandatory that our guns be equipped with a red dot so we could be the first agency in the area to mandate red dots. so our guys are using rmrs with trijicon's rm44 dovetail adapter. i sent my slide out to get milled for it and he put a stop to slide milling because he believes it affects the integrity of the gun. i gave up trying to correct everything. once he retires in 6 years, i'm going to try to get the new chief to make it optional.

Hard to believe milling a slide to directly accept a Trijicon RMR affects the integrity of the pistol more than a dovetail adapter. Tell the chief he's jeopardizing the safety of the community by not having (lower one-third) co-witnessed backup iron sights.

we did today. He said we will see about having the city pay to mill all the slides then he got hit with two grievances and a lawsuit from our guys so it’s probably on the back burner. Lol.

i just ordered a chpws plate to try on my glock 35 mos gun. I didn’t like the MOS plates. Glock and everyone else should just standardize on one mount style and the red dot makers should follow and make it a universal thing. I’ve standardized on the RMR since it’s on my duty gun.

You will like the chpws plate. It’s first class.

I hope that never happens. I like a red dot but I don't want every Glock I own to be cut for one. I'm a big boy, I'd like to make that decision on my own Uncle Government!
I see a lot of these posts in this thread, and I get what you're saying, I guess, but to me, that's like saying you'd like your AR not to have a pic rail on top. That seems stupid, to me, but lo-and-behold, people still buy uppers with charging handles instead of a pic rail. I always thought that was just people going for a retro look (and for no other good reason). Am I wrong? I mean, you can always get a pic-rail-mounted-charging handle, so why not go that route, unless it really is just about form over function (must have retro look, function be damned)?
