Nice shooting.

Seems like I've seen an uptick in interest for the Sig 239 on gun boards lately. Probably because it is a good shooter, the possible looming mag limit law, and the supply of it and some other metal frame pistols are drying up.

The P239 is one of my all time favorites.

It has been an off-duty carry of mine for 14 years now. When I started in LE we issued the P226 and I had little experience with traditional DA autos. I struggled to get a hang of the DA trigger pull and transition to SA. The P226 was a big gun to CCW so I bought a P239 9mm to have a similar platform to carry off-duty and practice with. Keep it consistent I guess.

It never feels quite right in the hand. The typical high Sig bore axis coupled with the abbreviated grip always felt off balance to me. But for some reason that has never stopped me from shooting it like a champ.

It’s not super lightweight and high capacity like a lot of the newer and trendier subcompact carry pistols, but it’s a classic and always surprises me how capable it is.

Finding mags has become a major problem. It it a gun I ever felt the need to have a dozen mags for, but I wish I bought a few more when they were readily available. I have five and i HATED paying the $40+ prices for the five I have which is why I never bought more.

But who would have guessed Sig would suddenly stop supporting the P239? I sure didn’t.

10 yards, 124 gr SIG FMJ ammo. Shot 100 rounds, zero malfunctions, very accurate. My wife shot as well, she enjoys this pistol as it fits her hands. I really wish SIG would bring this pistol back, it is perfect in my opinion. I like it it much better than the p365.

i gave a 9mm model to one of nieces 12-years ago. I asked her if I should get her a more modern left hand friendly gun and she said she’s sticking with the P239.

Sleek looking gun. Glad you and the wife enjoy shooting together. I'm jealous

Congrats.

The SIG P239 and the S&W 3913 (and variants) are probably the two best lightweight, single-stack, metal-framed compact pistols for concealed carry ever produced. It's a damned shame both companies discontinued them and considered them obsolete, and have made acquiring magazines so difficult.

It is a great gun. Did you shoot those using double action?
I usually decock it after I chamber a round, first shot in DA as would be when I carry it and all the subsequent shots are in SA. I had my wife do the same, just so she knows the difference. It's not bad, if you train for the transition between DA to SA.

I really wish both companies would build them, they are so much more enjoyable to shoot in my opinion. Great guns, reliable, accurate, and also nice for carry. I love carrying mine IWB.

If SIG ever decides to build them again, they will sell faster than they can make them. People that shoot are coming around back to wanting a metal frame compact pistol.

Very nice shooting, a little to the left like most Glocks.

Nice P239. That's one that I was curious about. But, I never found one in 357 SIG which was the one I wanted to try.

A lot of shooters make too big of a deal out of the SA/DA transition. It's a training issue.
