Other than looking shinier in pictures, and something else to stroke and impress other men with what it looks like.... what can this do that my Glock 17 can't?

Does it throw bullets too?

Can I wear it in a leg holster and go prone in the dirt with it, or do I have to worry about scratching it up when changing positions?

Good report. Looking for updates as round count builds up, maybe even some scores.
I’m probably not going to shoot it much until there’s a place for it to play. It is better than a CZ Shadow 2, I’d estimate maybe worth 3-5% on a classifier off the top of my head. But it’s not going to make a B class shooter into an M.

Depends on how good a shooter you are.

The average driver won’t notice any functional difference between a Porsche 911 and a Toyota Corolla. Doesn’t mean there isn’t any difference.

YMMV.

Don’t think for a minute that there isn’t a performance difference between a Glock 17 and this gun.

I’ve tested a Shadow 2 and a G34 back to back multiple times and there definitely is a difference if you’re consistent enough to notice.

There’s also definitely a difference between an Alien and a Shadow 2.

Also, the good looking woman at the LGS FFL who helped me out was very impressed and asked to take a photo of it. If you’re jelly, that’s your beef.

It’s really like a GT3. And if there was a competitive place to play, I’d treat it like a dirty garden implement.

It was designed as a competition pistol for IPSC (European USPSA).

If you shoot enough, you’ll immediately recognize the difference in muzzle flip compared to a Glock 17.

If you shoot enough, you will stop perceiving the "muzzle flip".

BTW I gave up Porsches after building my own purpose built track car using an LS based engine - the driver is the ultimate singular variable, not the car. But I do understand the psychological effect of having a $50K car that is just as fast as a $200K car. Not as pretty though, and no women gathered around it- but lots of MEN come sniffing around.
I did have a pretty young girl compliment me on my 30 year old cologne yesterday. As a 57 yo guy, I call that sympathy.

I am assuming you don’t compete with Glocks in sanctioned competition and I’m assuming you’re talking about goober HPDE track days.

I compete in USPSA and club raced with SCCA. I club raced an S2000 and daily drive a GT3.

I have a Glock as a home defense gun, but for competition... not.

Also, in 2019 I shot over 40,000 rounds.

I’m seeing a bit of a pattern in your posts.

My sound advice is to stick with your G17 and leave the nice stuff for others.

Have fun with that

I can see the difference immediately. I would really like to try one. I can see it and I'm just an amateur shooter

I went to my drawer of holsters and it looks like a Glock 20/21 holster will work. I ordered a double clip AIWB holster just now and will let you know how that works. It might require a little bit of heat forming, but from what I can tell the thickness, trigger guard and blockiness is similar.

It’s actually green, not gold. It’s just lighting reflection. Here it is compared to a G19x.

Quick magnet test confirms black part of frame is steel and green part is aluminum. View attachment 897372
Great pic

I’ve seen the gun in different color schemes as well in various videos. I imagine it will be offered in a variety of finishes at some point.
