I was pretty surprised by the number of people on the Glock Talk Forum that don't own any Glocks or actually dislike them. I don't know how you would consider yourself a gun enthusiast without owning at least one model of the handgun that changed the entire firearms industry. I do prefer CZ's but have a G21 (Nightstand gun) and a G17. Yes, the grip isn't the greatest but the over all design spells reliability. Is this the new gun thing, to spurn Glocks?

Being personally honest I think the Glock platform is something people love, hate, or deal with. When I say deal with your issued one as a work tool, have no other choices.

I like the Glocks I own, I do not like some models. I own two of a certain model, and they work very dependable out of the factory. No need to do anything to the Glocks, as they are capable of shoot better then me in the hands of a person with a high skill liver them me.

I use to think the Glock held different then a Sig, or M-1911. Improvise, adapt, and overcame this funny hold thing.

If I was still in the LE profession I would love a Glock in my holster.

Just my two cents on subject. Many Glock hate never even shot a Glock, they know all because they read something on line from another keyboard commando.

IMHO

I don't know, I love Glocks. I hate Glock knuckle but I love the grip angle. Its more natural for me and I love the simplicity of the design.

Seems like every time I shoot something other than a Glock, it throws me off when I go back to a Glock. My point of aim is all off.

Thinking strongly of just sticking with the Glock platform on everything.

I like everything about my Glocks other than the slushy trigger (I am an old school clay targets shotgun guy, I HATE long pre-travel). And I can do without Glock knuckle (but I only get that with the 19's, and not the others. Weird). Everyone should have a safe full of Glocks! A gun so simple and dependable that even "I" can work on them and not screw them up. ;)

Glocks like any tool require practice to build proficency. Most people hate practicing, it is time, and ammo consuming.

If you want to be good, or great at any craft involving tool. Takes practice.

I like Glock pistols, as long as they are NOT in 9x19mm. Of course, that does very severely limit one's choices.

A couple of decades ago I settled on the G19 as the best tool for EDC. There were a number of reasons... it's simplicity of design, light weight (compared to existing SIGs, S&W etc at the time) and in 2000 or 2001 I was able to attend a Glock armorers class so I can do everything myself. Also, spare parts directly from Glock Inc. were cheap, $1 or $2 for most of the common replacement parts.

So 20+ years later, I'm muscled memoried to shooting G19/G26 and no longer playing the field looking for a better mouse trap. But through all these years, it's still stainless 3-inch barreled revolvers that gets my attention.

That statement is your subjective opinion only.
Why care what others buy, like, or dislike?
lol That's the main reason why forum exists.

Well the Glock is a excellent SD handgun. It's like an AK, always fires and is SD accurate. What more do you want? I can convert them to another Cal. just by changing barrels and magazines. They are an easy carry but not for every one.
You do have to train yourself how to carry them and how to draw them.

I like Glocks. In my opinion Glock is a gun that doesn't do any one thing great but does everything good. Which makes it a good overall gun.
For example I have guns that may have a better trigger, or better sights, or better grip angles, and so on. But, when the overall gun is compared and other areas are considered including cost the Glock does as well or better than the other gun.

It is no secret, I have been a fan-boy of Glocks since 1988...but, my recently purchased CZ P10c is growing on me...I like to more each time I shoot it,,,took a little doing to get it up the equal my tried and true 19 Gen-3, but a definite contender for my 2nd fav pistol

I've heard of "Glock Knuckle" "Glock Leg" "Glock Tard" "Glock Pig Nose"

Hell.... I've even heard of "Glock Penis" (i.e. for Glock ex-appendix carry guys).

Are there any other parts of the human anatomy I need be concerned with as a current GLOCK owner?

I really like Glocks, as a combat or self-defense handgun. I don't think they can be beat in that role, in general, with all things considered (especially price). I don't buy them as target guns or range toys, as there are much better options for that. I don't hunt either, and if I did, I would probably use something else for that role.

I either shake my head or roll my eyes when I hear or read of people calling them "plastic junk". Anyone who states that is one of these:

1) Ignorant
2) An idiot
3) A troll, seeking attention because they are narcissistic. Especially here on Glocktalk.

I have owned at least 2 dozen Glocks over that last nearly 30 years, currently own 4 of them (for different roles), and when I need a new handgun, will likely buy another.

I have a G19, G26, G33, and two G42's, also had a G17, and had a G36 (45ACP) that blew up in my hand.

I do not like Glocks at all.

My friend, who still owns a couple G19's and G17, and who gave me the G17 and G26, I believe says it best,

"Holding and shooting a Glock is like holding and shooting a Brick."

I leave the (loaded) G26 and laser equipped G19 in the car, 24/7.
I try to shoot those Glocks about once a month on my backyard range. (I shoot 4-5 days a week in the back yard).
Instead of being an enjoyable experience, like shooting most of the other guns, shooting the Glocks is a unpleasent chore.

BUT, like most things, some people LIKE Glocks and some people DON"T. :)

I think most Glock hate is either due to 1) grip ergos, or 2) just wanting to be 'contrarian cool,' i.e. hating a very popular inanimate object because of wanting to go against the herd. I can relate to both of these, but grew out of the 2nd mindset many years ago. Some things are popular for good reason. As for the first basis, i.e. grip ergos, that also applies to me. Glock grip dimensions are all wrong for me in every way, trigger guard beats me up too. Until I checked out the 43X/48. I think most people who talk about the Glocks not fitting their grip would change their tune for the 43X/48. A 43X is now #1 on my "next" list ... though I did let the VP9 cut line earlier this summer.

And FWIW, Glock ergos don't bother me so much that I don't own one. G41 ... best non-precious double stack 45 on the market, for my liking anyway.
