Have actually sold a couple pistols locally to fellow CCW holders with no problem. Decided to browse around for a G34 for the heck of it, and got a kick out of one of the "Too good to be true" ad's, or at least that is what it would appear.

The first one in AZ, for $350:

Same pics, similar price, but in GA for this one:

Have to assume this some sort of a scam, but sad there are people like this out there. Might even be more of this same listing, but only stumbled on the two.

Fortunately, I've made a multiple purchases from there that went super smooth! Yes, its shady. There are so many ways to verify someone or an item that it's hard to be scammed IMO. Scammers prey on ignorance and stupidity most if the time. People fall victim because they blindly trust the seller, don't ask questions, send payment unsecured, and have no patience. I try to exclusively buy from trusted forum members with some form of feedback/post count 99% of the time.

The two sales I made went fine, but I do bet there are plenty of people that get scammed. With a price this low, I bet it's to get them to "ship", and it probably goes downhill from there. With most of them falling in the same price range, anyone falling for something like this is bound to lose out.

Went ahead and flagged them both, so we'll see how it turns out.

So are they trying to get someone to meet face to face and rob them? Isn't it stupid to do this type of scam cause the feds get involved if firearms are involved, right?
No, mostly fishing for emails. When you contact someone on AL or most any of the other b/s/t sites it sends them an email which includes your email. They can then sell your email. Some try very hard to get you to give them your phone number as well so they can sell the number. Some do it for sick kicks just to get people to email them.

And there are some scammer such as the idiots that contact you from another state and will give you more than your asking and have a 'friend' who is an FFL drop by your house to pick up the gun.

And right now the bottom feeders are out in force on AL price-gouching. In my area is a used Glock 45 for $850.

Normally however, I've had many good deals on AL and met some nice people. You just have to be careful and meet in a public place.

Sold four handguns on A. L. I just put in ad the requirement they must have AZ CCW. Has went well. Meet in the In-And-Out parking lot. :D

I peruse Armslist daily. Done a lot of buying, selling, and trading on it. Yes, there are some scammers, but they're pretty easy to detect. Never had a scammer problem in all the years I've been using it.

Just remember that Armslist is intended for face to face transactions only. It's hard to get scammed when the buyer and seller meet in person.

Same goes for Craig's List. Have a vehicle up for sale, and have already gotten several e-mail's from people stating they are having "problems" with their e-mail and requesting a call or e-mail to them directly.

That is my thing as well: must have CCW. Put one of my mint Springfield XD's up Tuesday evening and it was gone by late Wednesday morning. Met the guy locally and it went well.

This is what I ran into a lot but never knew what their angle was.

Multiple Armslist sales and trades, love it. It's pretty easy to weed out the shady characters. Poor English, not willing to give a good phone number, want to meet at midnight behind a gas station, etc. Those are actually few and far between.

Maybe it's the area I live in. Minnesota nice!

I think it has everything to do with the areas.

Not just Glock info. Moved to General Firearms

I've made several armslist sales. I always specify face-to-face and all meetings will be in a police department parking lot. Never had a problem.

I've always had pretty good luck using AL. I always meet in a neutral spot. I have had a couple guns that weren't quite as good of condition as the individual described but I purchased anyways, those were to be shooters and I didn't mind.
I've met some great people that I've bought or sold guns to on AL, including some that I still keep in touch with.
