I was rather surprised this morning to find one of my Glock 17 magazines which fit all my other Glocks did not fit in the 19X. This magazine seems to have a slightly thicker base plate which is slightly tilted upwards. So which of the Gen 17 magazines do not fit the Glock 19X?

None of them fit, at least that's what one of my friends said. so I asked the local gun dealer when the 19X first showed up. He said they use a different magazine and the current ones would not fit, so I avoided the 19X.

I don’t understand people who choose to miss out on good things because they can’t be bothered to do their homework.
My G19x runs all my non-Gen5 magazines just fine.
It’s the Gen5 G17 baseplate that is the issue. Nothing else. Mag bodies are the same.

It’s a shame you avoided the 19x over a simple floor plate issue that can be swapped out, it’s a great gun!!! You’re missing out

So much misinformation, as bad as believing CNN. All G17 mags will fit the 19X except gen5 because of newer designed baseplate. Gen 1-4 baseplates are like $2 each if you wanna convert the gen5s. If you like the gen5 orange follower they are like $5 each. Geez.

It would have been appropriate to have stated that it was a Gen5 G17 magazine.
One of the errors made in Gen5 pistol production is supplying a new standard magazine that incorporates some valueless baseplate dingleberry that was bound to cause problems somewhere eventually.
Hey hey now... Some of us warm bodies like the Gen 5 base plates. And if you like the 19X but want magazine compatibility, just do yourself a favor and pick up a G45.

And now that Glock is abandoning the front strap cutout, [moving forward] they'll most likely abandon the GEN5 baseplates as well.

Ahhh, Glock really messed up their naming convention. I've already had to correct a couple customers that the Glock 45 is 9mm, not .45 ACP.
I disagree. Simple numerical progression is the best way to do it.
Folks just need to be smart and educate themselves about what they are buying.
The Glock 17 is not .17 HMR
The Glock 22 is not .22 LR
The Glock 25 is not .25 ACP
The Glock 32 is not .32 ACP
The Glock 40 is not .40 S&W
The Glock 41 is not .41 Magnum
The Glock 44 won't be .44 Magnum
The Glock 45 is not .45 ACP
And the Glock 50 won't be .50 BMG
