Does anyone else have one? I have one in 9mm and I just can't get over how much I love it. I was planning on selling it but it feels better in my hand than my Gen 4 Glock 19. The finger grooves don't fit my hand properly. The Walther just fits like a glove. I have the P99c AS in 9mm as well and it is also an excellent firearm.

I am thinking of making the Walther P99c my EDC gun. I have a Glock 26 but I really like the Walther trigger.

I had one. It was nice but too large for carry. It felt pretty good ergonomically but there was something about the ergos that was just a bit off for me, couldn't put my finger on it. The slide serrations didn't have enough bite for my taste.

I have a P99AS in 9mm. I love it, and got it a couple years back to complement my PPSm1 when I thought they might update the P99 design again. I don't know that I would like it as much in an M2 version.

Good pistol. I actually prefer it over the newer PPQ.
Myself as well. The PPQ has a grip which I feel is a little grippier in the hand. However I much prefer the DA/SA of the P99 AS.

I also must admit that I like the looks of the older P99 over the PPQ.

I don't understand why Walther didn't push this pistol here in the USA? It seems to have been a popular LEO handgun in Europe and I do believe a few Canadian departments issued them. However here in the USA I think the closest they got was the SW99s being issued by the New Jersey State Police awhile back.

I have a 2004 vintage P99 AS that I love and carry from time to time. They were one of the most underappreciated guns at the time and lots of people thought the AS trigger was too complicated or weird.

I wish I could find another.

They sure are difficult to find. On the plus side resale value can be incredible because of that. If you can find one for a deal it's worth picking up just for resale once the supply runs out again, which doesn't take long. 9mm of course, .40s are plentiful.

A friend of mine just got a P99C in .40 S&W and I got to shoot it yesterday -- really nice shooter with a good trigger straight from the factory. Felt like I was shooting a 9mm in regards to how it handled recoil. I would buy one if I were in the market.

Years ago, the P99 was on my wish list, but never happened. Clever gun, and I like DA/SA.

BTW, did anyone else ever make a DA/SA striker fired gun? :dunno:
Taurus maybe? And probably some of the Canik models that look suspiciously like a P99.

Until fairly recently Walther didn't even bother much with the non-LE market in the US. Only imported small batches at a time and had S&W importing and taking care of warranty work.

Doubt they could practically give them away like Glock to get contracts, or want to for that matter. The paddle mag release never caught on here either. Supposedly when the PPQ M2 was released it outsold the original 10 to 1.

The P99 AS is a sweet pistol. I like my PPQ a little better mostly because the trigger on the PPQ does not break as far back as it does on the P99. Wish I would have bought one last year when they are available for around $440 new. P99 AS 9MM and original PPS 9MM are next to impossible to find new now other than maybe Earl's but his prices are pretty high.

My P99 9mm is the Best and most accurate pistol I have ever owned. Also, great to shoot. Can't think of a single thing I dislike about it. Love it. I would have 2 if they weren't so hard to find new. Also, paddle mag release is superior to button release.

Agree on the paddle release, much prefer it. It just works better. Wish the PPS M2 had it. Am considering a VP9 SK for carry and will certainly welcome the paddle release.
