Greetings,

Frankly my Glocks with red dots have spoiled my reading glasses needing upper middle age eyes, so I have been neglecting my revolver love for lack of that option. I now have an extra Trijicon RMR laying around from some swapping and rather, than mounting it on another semi auto, a revolver with an RMR is sounding pretty good to me. Mainly (ok well totally) a fun accurate range toy is what I'm looking for.

I was looking at a Chiappa Rhino just for it's cool and easy to mount factors, but sadly it only has rails on top in the 6" model, and if I got one at all, a 4" was a bit more to my liking, six just being a hair longer than I prefer. I do have a 5" GP100, but it's odd bbl length is making it a bit hard to find a mount as most come with a rail and only in 4" or 6". It's a bit heavier than I like as well. I also have a more recent model 67, that might work for what I want. Nice weight but minus the cool factor of the Rhino.

Anyway, so revolvers and RMR's, thoughts on good combos and mounts? I'd really like as low and clean a mount as possible. Thanks for any thoughts!

If I had the money, I would buy a Dan Wesson 715 and an extra barrel shroud and have a flat milled into the top of the barrel shroud to fit a Glock MOS plate and put a red dot on it. Might have to drill different holes in the plate as the rib is narrower than a slide.

Allchin makes a nice S&W mount that replaces the rear sight on the drilled and tapped models, but being mounted where it is, it is rather high. My 627 Pro is set up that way and I enjoy shooting it with the dot.

I have a Ruger Super Redhawk 454 Casull and S&W 629 Performance Center 44 Magnum with them. I have a similar setup on a Taurus Tracker 922 22LR/22WMR.

I have used an Ultradot Matchdot on my Ruger Mark II Target Comp 22 LR. All of my AR pistols have red dots, as do my shotguns and one AR.

For speed it's hard to beat.

I've used Red dots on pistols for a few years. Key is bringing the gun up to the eyes, and not looking down towards the gun. Keep focused on the target and then bring the gun up to the field of view. Using an isosceles stance I can rotate to hit targets at different distances and locations.
