If you are looking for immediate gratification for perceived accuracy from yourself the 17L will be your choice. If you are trying to become a better shooter, try something smaller.
That's a much better way of saying what I was saying Rocky. It makes me look much better than I am while a 26 more clearly shows my flaws and need for practice. Lucky me, I just moved to a farm where I can go in the back yard and shoot anytime I want

I've spent (3) years and 45k rounds down range to finally make consistent shoots with the 26. I've used this platform for over 20 years but just lately took the time to learn how to shoot it. It takes me longer to Master something more than most. The 17 was an easier platform and it was difficult to go backwards in skill to my ego.

I don't own one yet, but someday I will...a G34 that is. For a home defense and a range gun, the 34 strikes me as the perfect Glock. It feels good in my hand and it looks great. What am I waiting for?

Was at a lgs today when the UPS driver dropped off a couple of packages and wouldn't you know a 17L was in one. Asked how much was they going to ask for it and the owner didn't know. Ill check back in a couple of days.

There are a bunch on gunbroker right now for $599. So don't pay more than that plus shipping and transfer minus taxes.

My 17L only weighs .45oz heavier than my 34 and 1.6oz more than the 17. If you compare them with a full mag I doubt you'd notice the 1.6oz.

I think a 9mm target pistol is fine at 4.5-5".

The 17L is super top heavy with that big ass slide and starts to get even more so when you start to drain the magazine.
IS NOT!!! IS NOT!!!!

OK, maybe a tiny bit heavier, but it balances well in the hand. My wife doesn't like it, because she says it is too light for her to get steady. She shoots her Buckmark better, even though it is heavier.

My G-23 is my favorite, followed closely by the G-17L.
It would be a little hard to carry the G-17L, until it becomes full open carry around here, and I don't see that happening. LOL
I also like the G-24 that I had, and would love to find another.
I am entertaining the idea of a G-21SF frame, and a 6" Barrel and slide in 45ACP, that should make a softer shooting 45. Till I go to shooting 45 Super, that would wake up a 45.

The wife & I headed to our new favorite shop in Dryden (Boltworks) and bought the 17L. They are adding some goodies so we will pick it up next weekend. Hoping it stops snowing long enough to try it out!

I agree with plp, it balances in my hand.

I love my 17L Gen 1. S/N DB70X US

I should trade it to a collector for a Gen 3. Hint, hint.
(I don't have the box or paperwork)

19 is my edc. Would like a 17 for bedside. Add a laser or light, fancy sights, maybe a satellite tv dish, foam rubber dice, gun nuts (do they make those?).
