I am getting ready to order a some pd delta bullets. This will be my first time reloading these. I saw in another thread that some said that that the JHP was more accurate then the FMJ. Could those of you that have used them give your experience.

Would a good starting point be Hornady data for ether the XTP or FMJ RN as appropriate work. I plan on the 124 grain bullet with WSF.

I love their product. And yes to answer your question. Try 10-15% under max and see how they do. Then work your way up a little.

Precision delta JHP are the most accurate bullet I load for my XDM 5.25, along with the Hornady HAP 125 JHP. I can get slightly under 2" groups from a rest at 25 yds, the best lead bullets get me 3" + groups from the same distance no matter the bullet, powder, load combo I try. I prefer the precision deltas as they are way less expensive than the hornady's if you buy at least 2k.

I don't use WSF powder but over 3.6 gr of titegroup or 3.7 gr of AA #2 I get a nice feeling very accurate load.

I have found their JHP to be better accuracy wise than their FMJ.

Either the XTP or FMJ data will work as a starting point.

You know, I have never tested them for expansion performance (I usually rely on youtube tests for this stuff anyway, although I have done a few wet pack, tests over the years). I just use them for target work, my go to bullets for SD in 9mm is GD.

I frankly don't even know why they work so much better than their FMJ's. I always assumed it was having to do with the process used in construction that caused them to work so much better.

I load the PD 124 ahead of 5.0 grains of WSF and it is very accurate in all of my Glocks. Start around 4.5 grains work up to the sweet spot on your gun.

I load both the Precision Delta JHP and FMJ with 5.0 grains of WSF. But I load the FMJ a little longer.

My opinion (aided by early intake of bourbon) is that you have to be a damn good shooter to see a difference. I'm a great shooter (again, bourbon speaking) and it is very hard to tell a difference. So, why am I posting on this thread (given my bourbon intake)...

Assess your real skill level and the capability of your firearm, then determine if the projectile makes a difference. Enjoy and a great topic.

Let me add additional comments (gotta love the bourbon).
I've loaded a ton on 115 and 124 FMJ from PD and a bit of their hollow point, cannot tell a difference. for what it is worth. I blow **** down range with a Glock. It is good enough to hit a 4 inch center. Boom!

I have shot both and can't tell a difference in accuracy, that doesn't mean the HP aren't a more accurate bullet, try both out in your guns

cant comment to accuracy differences, but I am about to open up 3k 147gr FMJ from PD that I ordered during the week.

I have shot about 16,000 of their bullets in the last year... good quality bullets... reasonable priced if you buy 2,000 or more at a time.. they are as accurate as I am..

It would be nice to see some actual accuracy comparisions.

I've shot the 147's with very good accuracy.

I know some shooters that prefer the JHP because the base is covered by the jacket, unlike the FMJ. This produces less smoke that with hotter burning powders (like TG).

In any given same caiber/weight bullet I have found that the HP is always more accurate. My take away Is that the HP is a little longer, better BC and provides an increase in stability there by increasing accuracy.
