Picked up a spring kit for a GEN 2 - 19 that I picked up recently. The spring kit came from Glockmeister, the replacement firing spring is about 1/4" longer than the old one? Did Glock change springs or did they send me an extra power?

It does appear to be a factory OEM spring.
Remember the Glock design has a preload on the f p spring if in the ready to fire position.
I do not know the exact amount, poundage wise I've seen 35% to 65%,perhaps a Glock armorer can state the correct poundage of preload. SJ 40

Most coil springs will get somewhat shorter after a relatively little amount of use, then the rate of "shrinkage" decreases rapidly after that. Non-captive recoil springs in older design autos make it easy to see the changes, not so easy on most Glocks where the recoil spring is capped on both ends.
